The Indianapolis Colts have activated linebacker Jaylon Carlies from the Injured Reserve list ahead of their Week 14 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaylon Carlies, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 227 pounds, had spent the current season on the practice squad. Carlies, a fifth-round pick from Missouri, appeared in 10 games with six starts during his rookie year, registering 36 tackles, including 2.0 for loss, one sack, and one pass defensed. The Colts hope Carlies will reinforce their linebacker corps with his previous on-field experience.
Kicker Blake Grupe, who was signed to the practice squad on December 3, brings a strong leg and proven accuracy. In his three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Grupe converted 75 of 94 field goals and 86 of 88 extra points, accumulating 311 points. The undrafted Notre Dame alumnus provides depth and reliability at the kicking position for Indianapolis.
Defensive tackle Chris Wormley, previously elevated in Week 13, will again join the active roster. Wormley made an immediate impact in his last appearance, earning two solo tackles, a tackle for loss, and a sack. Since joining the Colts’ practice squad in November, Wormley has drawn on his extensive NFL experience, having played 88 games across several teams, including the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.
