Former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah has been released early from federal prison, a Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson confirmed. Shah served over two years of her 6.5-year sentence before transfer to community confinement.

Shah was held at a minimum security federal prison camp in Texas, the same facility that housed Elizabeth Holmes and Ghislaine Maxwell. She is now either in home confinement or a halfway house, according to the Bureau of Prisons, but precise details remain private for safety reasons.

The reality star was arrested in March 2021 amid investigations into a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme. Initially denying charges on Bravo’s reality series, Shah pleaded guilty to wire fraud in 2022.

In January, she was sentenced to 78 months in prison and ordered to forfeit $6.5 million and various luxury items. Despite the lengthy sentence, her release date was moved up multiple times during her incarceration.

Jen Shah’s early release has surprised fans and sparked conversations about her future in television. Andy Cohen, executive producer of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” indicated that Shah is unlikely to return to Bravo programming. He remarked, “I don’t know if I could see Bravo working with her again.”
