George Harrison’s Latest Video Directed by Stranger Things Star Finn Wolfhard

George Harrison’s Iconic Song Receives New Animated Video Directed by Finn Wolfhard

Stranger Things actor and musician Finn Wolfhard has directed an animated video for George Harrison’s classic track "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)." The song is the opening track of Harrison’s album Living in the Material World released in the early 1970s.

The video features stop-motion animation created by a team of 20 Canadian artists. It depicts George Harrison gardening on his Friar Park estate in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England, capturing a tranquil and reflective mood aligned with the song’s themes.

Wolfhard expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the Harrison family. He described the project as an honor and emphasized how George Harrison’s work continues to inspire him both personally and artistically.

Dhani Harrison, George Harrison’s son, praised Wolfhard as “one of the sweetest and most talented people” of his generation. Dhani stated, “My dad would have loved this, and I hope his wonderful, creative, heartfelt ideas help this song reach another generation.”

Aside from his directing role, Wolfhard continues to balance his thriving acting and music careers. He recently reprised his role as Mike Wheeler in the fifth season of Stranger Things, which started streaming last month. Earlier this year, he released his debut solo album titled Happy Birthday.

Wolfhard is also preparing to direct a film about alt-rock band The Replacements. The project adapts Bob Mehr’s 2016 biography Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements for cinema audiences.

The new video release coincides with the 50th anniversary edition of George Harrison’s Living in the Material World album. This reissue came out last month and has reignited interest in the legendary artist’s solo work.
