A substitute teacher and her boyfriend have been formally indicted on multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of a 5-year-old girl in Texas. Madison Paige Jones, 30, and Zackery Dondlinger, 37, face numerous serious accusations that include aggravated sexual assault and the production of child pornography, according to Ellis County court records.
Jones was charged with 19 counts including aggravated sexual assault of a child, sexual contact with a child, and possession with intent to promote child pornography. Dondlinger was indicted on 20 similar counts, marking the case’s progression to trial after a grand jury found sufficient evidence. Both defendants’ bonds have been set at extraordinarily high amounts following the indictments. Jones’ bond increased to $3.84 million from $90,000, and Dondlinger’s bond rose to $5 million from $200,000.
Details of the Alleged Crimes and Arrests
Authorities arrested Jones on December 19, 2025, after receiving information from a woman identified as a friend of Jones who expressed concern about Dondlinger’s behavior toward the young child in Jones’ home. Within days, police apprehended Dondlinger at his workplace on an oil rig. The two were reportedly in a romantic relationship, and Jones served as a substitute teacher.
Law enforcement sources stated that Jones reportedly confessed to the abuse, revealing she acted under Dondlinger’s direction. Jones also admitted that Dondlinger had sexual fantasies about the child. Videos allegedly depicting the abuse were reportedly sent by Jones to Dondlinger through Snapchat, with text messages corroborating these statements discovered during the investigation.
Jones’ Employment and District Statements
Jones worked as a substitute teacher for the Midlothian Independent School District (Midlothian ISD) but had limited service, reportedly working only four days in the previous year. The district confirmed her past employment and emphasized she is no longer employed by them. They also clarified that the alleged crimes were not connected to their schools or any of their enrolled students.
The Midlothian ISD spokesperson declined immediate further comment, and the Midlothian Police Department also did not provide additional statements to the media.
