BTS Unveils Cinematic ‘SWIM’ Teaser, Full-Group Return Nears After Four Years

BTS has released a captivating teaser for the music video of their upcoming lead single “SWIM,” marking the group’s full return after nearly four years. The teaser, unveiled at midnight Wednesday across BTS’s official social platforms and YouTube, offers fans an early glimpse of the melody from “SWIM,” featured on their fifth full-length album, “ARIRANG,” scheduled to drop on Friday.

The video teaser opens with a woman swiftly entering an empty museum, carefully observing various exhibits before pausing in front of a grand ship model. As lights dim around her, the ship remains illuminated under a spotlight. The scene then transitions to a tranquil ocean where sunlight dances on the water, ending with the title “SWIM” appearing over the waves before fading out.

Renowned Ukrainian director Tanu Muino, who previously collaborated with BTS member Jung Kook on the “Standing Next to You” music video, helms this project. Muino’s portfolio includes high-profile works for global stars such as Post Malone, Doja Cat, and Dua Lipa, adding significant prestige to BTS’s visual presentation.

BigHit Music described “ARIRANG” as an album that delves into BTS’s artistic identity while engaging universal emotions that resonate broadly. “SWIM” stands out as an upbeat alternative pop track, encouraging listeners to keep moving forward despite life’s challenges and changes. The song’s reflective lyrics were written by BTS leader RM, underscoring the personal and insightful nature of the release.

With the album launch imminent, BTS has planned several major promotional activities. Their comeback event, “BTS COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG,” will be held at Seoul’s iconic Gwanghwamun Square on Saturday, offering fans a live experience of their new work.

Shortly after, BTS will bring the energy overseas with a special performance in New York City, collaborating with Spotify for the event “SPOTIFY X BTS: SWIMSIDE.” This international showcase represents a strategic push to connect with a global audience through a leading digital music platform.
