Bane’s availability gives Orlando a key lift
Bane’s status eased immediate concern for Magic supporters, since probable usually signals a player is expected to suit up. Even with the illness designation, the update suggests Orlando should have one of its top scoring options on the floor against Detroit.
His recent play also shows why the team needs him. In the play-in win over Charlotte, Bane scored 13 points on 4-for-14 shooting, but he still finished with a plus-minus of +30 and remained central to Orlando’s overall impact.
Jonathan Isaac remains another important question
Orlando’s injury report also includes forward Jonathan Isaac, who is listed as questionable with a knee sprain. He has been out for more than a month, and the Magic would welcome his return because he brings energy and defense off the bench.
Wendell Carter Jr. is listed as available despite dealing with a nasal fracture and using a face mask. At the time of the report, Detroit had no players listed on its latest injury report, setting up a relatively clean status picture for Game 1.
The Magic and Pistons are scheduled to meet in Game 1 on Sunday at 6:30 ET, with Orlando hoping Bane’s probable tag holds and that its frontcourt depth also gets a boost. A healthy Bane would give the Magic a stronger chance to control the pace early in the series and support an offense that will be under pressure from the opening tip.
