Juventus Wants Robert Lewandowski, Prandelli Says No Need for Him

A fresh wave of interest in Robert Lewandowski has pushed his future back into the spotlight, but the latest response from Italy suggests not every admirer is convinced. Juventus and AC Milan have both been linked with the Barcelona striker, yet a prominent voice in Italian football has openly argued that the Turin club should look elsewhere.

The debate now centers on whether Juventus really needs another high-profile center forward or whether its priority should be different. That question has grown louder after Cesare Prandelli said the club already has a proven No. 9 in Dusan Vlahovic and would be better served by bringing in Bernardo Silva instead.

Italian clubs enter the conversation

Reports from Spain have indicated that Lewandowski is not expected to stay at Barcelona for the next season. That has opened the door to new speculation, with clubs from the United States and Saudi Arabia already said to be interested, and Serie A sides joining the queue more recently.

Among the Italian names mentioned, Juventus stands out as the most persistent possibility. AC Milan has also been placed in the same discussion, while Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is said to be working with major clubs in Italy.

Prandelli’s direct message to Juventus

Prandelli did not leave much room for interpretation when asked about the idea of Lewandowski in black and white. “Juve, you don’t need Lewandowski. Keep Vlahovic, take Bernardo Silva,” he said, backing the Serbian striker as the better fit for the squad.

The former Italy coach, who reached the Euro 2012 final with the national team, argued that Lewandowski would not be an upgrade over Vlahovic. In his view, the current Juventus forward still deserves trust because of his goals, his leadership, and his previous performances.

Why Vlahovic remains central to the debate

Prandelli also stressed that Vlahovic has already shown he belongs at Juventus. He pointed to the striker’s output and influence, saying he could deliver a 25-30 goal season under Luciano Spalletti if he stays fit.

That view matters because Juventus has not yet made a final decision about its attacking plans. The club is still weighing whether to push ahead with serious talks involving Lewandowski and his camp, or to focus on retaining the striker already on the books.

The market view is different

Sebastian Staszewski, who wrote a biography about Lewandowski, offered a contrasting read on the situation during an appearance on “Misja Sport.” He said that, for now, the Juventus and Milan links should be treated as rumors rather than concrete negotiations.

According to Staszewski, the more realistic route for Lewandowski may be outside Europe. He pointed out that only clubs from Saudi Arabia or the United States can currently offer a two-year contract, which could matter to a player who values stability.

That change in market direction is important because it frames the next step in Lewandowski’s career differently from the Serie A chatter. While Italian clubs are being mentioned more often, the strongest practical options may still come from outside the continent.
