Michael Rapaport has intensified his criticism of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani after two antisemitic attacks in the city. Speaking on “CUOMO,” the comedian said his frustration has grown as he argues that Mamdani’s views raise serious concerns for New York.
Rapaport used especially harsh language when describing Mamdani, calling him “Zohran the Moron” and saying he does not believe Israel has the right to exist. He also said, “I think that he’s the greatest bullcrapper in the history of politicians,” adding that the issue is not just political style but what he sees as a dangerous direction for the city.
Rapaport ties his criticism to public safety concerns
Rapaport said he fears the situation could worsen if hatred and political tension keep rising in New York City. He warned that “somebody is going to wind up getting killed in New York City,” linking his comments to the recent attacks and the broader climate of fear.
His remarks were not limited to Mamdani’s positions alone. Rapaport also pointed to Mamdani’s wife, saying, “We know what his wife thinks,” and referring to what he described as her reaction on October 7th. Those comments added another layer to his criticism, though he did not offer further details in the interview excerpt.
A possible mayoral challenge in 2029
Rapaport also repeated that he wants to run for New York City mayor in 2029 as a way to remove Mamdani from office. He said the only way to beat him is with “a New York City street fight mentality,” arguing that softer political tactics would not work.
He said there is “no way to outnice him” and “no way to out-slick him,” framing the contest as one that would require direct confrontation. Rapaport added that he would only step aside if someone more qualified emerged who could defeat “Zohran the Moron.”
The exchange reflects a sharper and more personal political attack from Rapaport, who has increasingly cast Mamdani as a figure he believes cannot be ignored in New York City politics.
