Shannon Elizabeth Finalizes Divorce After OnlyFans Turned A Painful Split Into A Fresh Start

Shannon Elizabeth has finalized her divorce from Simon Borchert after what she described as a difficult separation. The actress said the end of the marriage has pushed her into a new phase of life, and she is now focused on work, creativity and personal stability.

Elizabeth, who married Borchert in 2021, told Page Six that she feels “liberated” and “more connected” to who she is now. She also said she is approaching this period with “a renewed sense of purpose” and a “full heart.”

How the split unfolded

The actress filed for divorce after she and Borchert, a fellow conservationist, quietly separated in September 2025. She said the legal process took time because the settlement had to be reached first, which she said was important under the rules where they live in South Africa.

“The actual filing just happened because we had to come to a settlement first,” she explained in a May 5 interview. “If we didn’t come to a settlement first, it could be tied up in court for 10 years.”

Elizabeth said that after the separation, she had to rebuild her life from the ground up. From September through the end of March, she described the period as emotionally difficult and said it forced her to ask, “Well, now what?”

OnlyFans became part of the reset

Just two days after filing for divorce, Elizabeth joined OnlyFans, a move she says was suggested by her first husband and now-manager, Joe Reitman. She said she did not initially plan to join the platform, but it became part of her healing process during a painful transition.

Elizabeth said the new venture gave her a sense of momentum after months of uncertainty. She added that moving into this next chapter so quickly after the divorce made it feel as if a “weight” had been lifted.

The actress also said the platform has brought strong financial results. She previously revealed that she earned $1 million in her first week on the subscription-based service.

What she plans to do next

Elizabeth said the income will help with basic life changes first, including finding a home and getting her belongings out of storage. She said she has not yet decided whether she will buy or rent, but she knows she wants to remain in South Africa.

She pointed to her charity work as a major reason to stay. “I know I’m going to stay out in South Africa because there’s a lot of work to do still with the charity and all,” she said, adding that she also has a strong friend group there.

Beyond housing, Elizabeth said OnlyFans could give her more freedom in her career. She wants to be more selective about acting roles and hopes to move further into directing and producing.

She also sees the platform as a tool for her foundation, which focuses on protecting endangered species and their habitats through conservation, education, advocacy and community support. Elizabeth said balancing entertainment, digital content and the foundation makes her feel more energized about the future than ever before.
