Lindsay Hubbard says the original cast of Summer House pulled closer after the Amanda Batula and West Wilson romance created tension around the group. In an exclusive interview with In Touch, Hubbard described the situation as a moment when longtime castmates decided to protect what they had built together.
She said the drama did not stay limited to the people directly involved. According to Hubbard, the chaos pushed the OG cast to unite and focus on the larger bond they share both on and off the show.
A longtime friendship group under pressure
Hubbard said the cast’s connection goes far beyond filming and storylines. She explained that she, Carl Radke, and Kyle Cooke have shared the same circle of friends for years, and that those relationships still shape much of their real lives.
“We’re all in the same group chats. We are all at the same birthdays,” Hubbard said, adding that the group has been sharing the same friends for nearly 15 years. Her comments suggest that the conflict affected a social circle that has existed long before the latest season drama.
The current tension centers on Batula and Wilson, who confirmed their relationship in March. Batula had previously announced in January that she and Cooke were separating after four years of marriage, while Wilson had earlier dated Ciara Miller, who viewed Batula as a close friend during their time on the Bravo series.
Why the OG cast regrouped
Hubbard said the scandal made the original cast think about the bigger picture. She described the response as a collective effort to protect the show and the relationships that have helped define it since Summer House began in 2017.
“This scandal broke out, and there was a lot of chaos around us, and the OGS got together to be like, ‘Okay, we’re going to protect everything we built in this moment,’” Hubbard said. She added that, at that point, the focus was no longer on individual feelings but on preserving the foundation of the group.
Her comments reflect the long-running nature of the cast’s friendships and conflicts. Hubbard, Radke, and Cooke have all been part of the main cast since the series premiered, and their personal lives have often played out on screen.
What to expect from the reunion
Hubbard also previewed the upcoming Summer House reunion, which is set to air on Bravo later this month. She called it “emotional” and said it was “a super long day” for the cast, with everyone putting their thoughts on the table.
“Everyone put it all out there,” she said. “We all laid it all on the line. Well, most of us.” Her remarks suggest that the reunion will revisit both the relationship drama and the wider impact it had on the cast dynamic.
Hubbard, who shares her 17-month-old daughter Gemma with ex-boyfriend Turner Kurfe, said she is not worried about the future of the franchise. She pointed to what she called a “perfect formula” for strong reality TV, and said Summer House will continue to “thrive and succeed.”
