The most striking detail around the Xiaomi 17T series is not just that new models are on the way, but how sharply Xiaomi appears to be separating the Pro version from the standard one. The leak paints the Xiaomi 17T Pro as the more aggressive device, with a 7,000mAh battery and MediaTek Dimensity 9500 at the center of its appeal.
That positioning suggests Xiaomi is aiming the series squarely at buyers who want premium hardware without giving up battery life. The standard Xiaomi 17T is still described as a strong model, but the Pro variant is the one expected to carry the headline specs and the clearest performance advantage.
Two models, two different priorities
The Xiaomi 17T lineup is said to include just two phones: the Xiaomi 17T Pro and the regular Xiaomi 17T. Both are listed with 12GB of RAM, but the rest of the configuration is arranged to make each model serve a different role.
The Pro model is being framed as the performance-first option. The regular model still looks premium, but it appears to be tuned as the more balanced choice in the family.
Battery size becomes the key talking point
The battery capacity is one of the biggest reasons the Xiaomi 17T Pro is drawing attention. A 7,000mAh battery is a large figure for a premium phone and immediately places endurance at the center of the device’s identity.
The regular Xiaomi 17T is also said to come with a substantial 6,500mAh battery. That means Xiaomi is not limiting large battery capacity to the Pro model alone, even if the top variant still gets the larger pack.
Chipsets clearly separate Pro and standard
Performance is another area where the two phones are expected to diverge. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is linked to MediaTek Dimensity 9500, while the Xiaomi 17T regular is said to use MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra.
That split gives the Pro model the highest-end positioning in the lineup. At the same time, the regular Xiaomi 17T still arrives with a strong chipset and 12GB of RAM, so it does not look like a stripped-down version.
Displays keep the premium feel intact
Both phones are said to use AMOLED panels with 120Hz refresh rates and 1.5K resolution. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is listed with a 6.83-inch display at 1280 x 2712 pixels, while the Xiaomi 17T regular uses a smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED screen.
The display strategy shows that Xiaomi is not reserving a smooth high-refresh experience only for the Pro model. The main differences here are size and overall device positioning, not the basic quality of the panel itself.
Camera hardware stays consistent across the family
Photography also appears to be handled in a surprisingly even way. Both models are reported to feature a triple rear camera setup with 50MP, 50MP, and 12MP sensors.
For selfies and video calls, each device is said to include a 32MP front camera. That consistency suggests Xiaomi wants the two phones to feel similar in everyday camera use, even if their internal hardware targets different buyers.
Software, durability, and pricing details
The two phones are also said to run Android 16 and carry IP68 certification. Dual nano SIM support is listed as part of the package as well.
Pricing from a Russian retail listing gives an early look at how Xiaomi may separate the models in the market. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is listed at RUB 65,651 for the 12GB + 512GB version, while the Xiaomi 17T appears at RUB 56,506 for 12GB + 256GB and RUB 60,967 for 12GB + 512GB.
Both phones are said to come in black, blue, and pink. Earlier Europe-focused pricing had already pointed to a higher position for the Pro model, with the Xiaomi 17T around EUR 749 and the Xiaomi 17T Pro at about EUR 999.
The global launch for the Xiaomi 17T series is said to take place on 28 May, while the regular Xiaomi 17T is expected to reach India a little later. For now, the leak leaves one message very clear: Xiaomi is preparing the 17T Pro to stand out with a bigger battery, a faster chip, and the most premium spot in the lineup.
