Roscaelifer Opens the Door to Zenless Zone Zero Season 3, Wind Aputure and a New Story Turn

HoYoverse is skipping Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.9 and moving straight to Version 3.0, turning the next update into a much larger pivot than a routine content drop. Scheduled for June 17, 2026, the patch will open Season 3 with a new region, new characters, and a story direction that reaches beyond the scale of a standard update.

The center of that shift is Roscaelifer, a floating city that had only been hinted at since Version 1.0. It is now set to become a fully explorable area, and its arrival changes the tone of Zenless Zone Zero’s next major chapter.

A city above New Eridu

Roscaelifer is officially known as Celestial Nexus. It sits above New Eridu, operates as an independent Restricted Zone, and is led by Lady Sunbringer.

The city is described as a Bangboo utopia where Bangboo and humans live together in peace. Its look also sets it apart from New Eridu, with European-style architecture, flying cars, and a calm atmosphere that rarely appears below.

That contrast matters because most New Eridu residents do not even know the city exists. The Season 3 teaser released on April 30 added another layer to that idea by suggesting that New Eridu’s prosperity is tied to hidden data flowing from Roscaelifer.

A different tone for the story

The teaser also changes how the city should be read. Instead of presenting that hidden data as a simple source of benefit, the story now links it to suffering.

Roscaelifer itself is also described as being on the brink of collapse. That framing gives Season 3 a more unstable starting point than a typical expansion focused only on new terrain.

Wind enters the roster

Version 3.0 also marks the debut of Wind as a new attribute, with Velina leading that introduction. She serves as the administrative director of Roscaelifer’s External Strategy Department and becomes the first Wind attribute agent in Zenless Zone Zero history.

Wind had already been teased in Version 2.8, when a boss entered a Wind Anomaly state. Even so, Velina is the first full agent to bring the attribute into the game proper.

HoYoverse has also teased Velina and Norma through its official social media ahead of June 17, although their complete abilities have not been revealed before the Special Program. Norma is a Fire Stun specialist, adding another team-building option alongside the broader story shift.

Proxy takes a new form

A third addition, Pyrois, stands apart from the other two. This character is not a standard banner agent, but a restored combat form of the Proxy.

HoYoverse has not confirmed how Pyrois will be obtained. Even so, the character’s role in the story suggests a central place in the Roscaelifer arc and in the game’s main progression path.

Version 3.0 will launch simultaneously on PC, mobile, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S at 11:00 UTC+8. With Roscaelifer opening up, Wind making its debut, and three key figures entering the stage, the update serves as the starting point for a wider Season 3 build-up.

Version 3.1 is expected to bring the first major narrative escalation of Season 3. For now, Version 3.0 is positioned as the entry point for exploration, world-building, and the deeper conflict tied to the floating city.
