Telkom Unifies Its AI Capabilities Into One End-To-End Ecosystem Built For Industry And Public Services

Telkom is trying to turn scattered AI work inside its business lines into a single coordinated system called AIcosystem. The move signals a broader push to build an end-to-end AI foundation in Indonesia, with infrastructure, models, platforms, and applications connected under one strategic direction.

The company says the goal is no longer limited to deploying individual AI tools. What is needed now is an ecosystem that can work securely, stay integrated, and produce solutions that are useful for business, public services, and the country’s digital needs.

A full-stack approach, not just an app layer

Telkom’s digital IT director, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, said the main distinction of AIcosystem lies in its full-stack AI approach. That approach starts from the base layer and continues through the data and platform layers before reaching applications and use cases.

According to Faizal, this structure is meant to make the resulting solutions safer through layered security, more scalable, and more relevant to business and public-sector needs in Indonesia. He also said TelkomGroup is ready to support future AI adoption and solution demand across sectors.

The full-stack structure is built on three main layers. The first is AI Infrastructure, which includes data centers, GPU, CPU, and memory for AI computing needs.

The second layer covers AI Models and Platforms. In this layer, Telkom is developing an AI platform, a big data platform, a data aggregator, and a Large Language Model that includes Bahasa Indonesia.

The third layer is AI Solutions and Applications. Here, TelkomGroup delivers applications and use cases tailored to specific industry and public-service requirements.

Bringing TelkomGroup capabilities into one direction

AIcosystem is designed to coordinate the many AI capabilities already spread across TelkomGroup in a single strategic direction. Work that previously moved separately inside different operating companies is now being aligned so it can produce more connected and scalable innovation.

The ecosystem brings together a broad portfolio that includes Telkom AI Center of Excellence, Telkomsel AI, Neutra Compute from NeutraDC, AI Infomedia, AI Digiserve, and Telkom University. This shows that Telkom is not building one isolated AI product, but a chain of complementary capabilities.

Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini described AIcosystem as a commitment to make AI the foundation of digital transformation. She said TelkomGroup wants to act as a collaborator and a bridge so that AI can enter business activity and everyday life.

Dian also stressed that AI must be developed collaboratively and sustainably. Because of that, Telkom is unifying its AI strengths so Indonesia can have an ecosystem that is solid, integrated, and capable of creating real impact for society, business, and national competitiveness.

The role of AI Center of Excellence

One of the main drivers of AIcosystem is Telkom AI Center of Excellence, or AI CoE. The initiative is built on five pillars: AI Campus, AI Playground, AI Connect, AI Hub, and AI Native.

Each pillar serves a different function in widening AI adoption through talent development, collaboration, and solution building. AI Campus strengthens ties with academia for AI talent development and research, while AI Playground gives developers and communities a space to explore.

AI Connect brings together campuses, industry, communities, and Telkom in a collaborative setting. AI Hub helps move ideas and experiments into ready-to-use solutions, while AI Native encourages AI use inside TelkomGroup so work can become faster, smarter, and more efficient.

Digital sovereignty and local relevance

A major part of Telkom’s direction is the use of a Bahasa Indonesia Large Language Model and stronger data security. The company also highlights infrastructure that is built and operated domestically as part of its support for AI sovereignty and national digital sovereignty.

This approach places Indonesian language, needs, and cultural dynamics inside the technology development process. Telkom expects that innovation and digital economic value from AI can grow within the country and deliver lasting benefits across many sectors.

Room for young talent and collaboration

Utusan Khusus Presiden Bidang Pembinaan Generasi Muda dan Pekerja Seni Raffi Ahmad said AI development creates broad opportunities to learn, innovate, and expand collaboration. He believes young people are the group most likely to adapt quickly to technology, including AI.

Raffi also said AIcosystem shows that Indonesia is not only a user of AI but also a creator. In his view, the collaboration space opened by TelkomGroup can help young Indonesians learn, create, and build innovations that matter for the country’s future.

Through AIcosystem, Telkom is positioning AI as a more comprehensive driver of digital transformation. The focus is not only on productivity, but also on long-term value for Indonesia through an AI system that runs from infrastructure to applications.
