Motorola has sharpened its premium phone push with the launch of the Edge 70 Pro+ in India. The model stands out immediately for its 50 MP telephoto camera, which brings 3.5x optical zoom and Super Zoom 50x in a package aimed at users who care about reach and detail.
That camera setup is the clearest sign that Motorola wants this phone to compete hard in the upper tier. The Edge 70 Pro+ also expands the Edge 70 family, which now includes the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Fusion+, and Edge 70 Pro.
A triple 50 MP rear camera system
Motorola places three rear cameras in a square module, and each one uses a 50 MP sensor. The main camera relies on a Sony LYTIA 710 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS for steadier shots.
The ultrawide camera also uses a 50 MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 122-degree field of view. It supports autofocus for macro photography, so it can handle both wide scenes and close-up detail.
The telephoto camera is the headline feature. It brings a 50 MP sensor, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, and Super Zoom 50x, which gives the Edge 70 Pro+ a strong advantage for users who often shoot distant subjects.
Selfies, display, and protection
On the front, Motorola uses a 50 MP selfie camera with an f/1.9 aperture and autofocus. The images from all of these cameras are shown on a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1272 x 2772 pixels and a 144 Hz refresh rate.
The panel also reaches a peak brightness of 5200 nits. To help protect the screen from scratches in daily use, Motorola adds Gorilla Glass 7i.
Performance and software support
Inside, the Edge 70 Pro+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme built on a 4 nm process. Motorola pairs it with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, and the available configuration is 12/256 GB.
The phone ships with Android 16 out of the box. Motorola also promises 3 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates, giving the device a longer support window than many phones in its class.
Battery life and charging options
The Edge 70 Pro+ uses a 6500 mAh silicon-carbon battery. Motorola says that battery can last up to 51 hours of use, which fits the phone’s focus on endurance.
Charging support is equally extensive. The device supports 90 W fast charging over USB Type-C, 15 W wireless charging, 5 W reverse wired charging, and 10 W reverse wireless charging.
Durability and other details
Motorola also gives the phone IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD 810H certification. That combination means the Edge 70 Pro+ is built to better handle dust, water immersion, high-pressure water spray, and strong impacts.
Other features include NFC, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The color options are PANTONE Stormy Sea (Green), PANTONE Zinfandel (Red), and PANTONE Chicory Coffee (Wood).
In India, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is priced at 47,999 rupee, or around Rp9 million. With its zoom-focused camera system, fast display, large battery, and broad durability package, the phone arrives as one of the most complete models in the Edge 70 series.
