Specialized has expanded its premium e-bike lineup with a model aimed far beyond the commuter segment. The new Levo 4 X is a full-suspension e-MTB built for riders who want long range, strong performance, and more utility in one package.
At the center of that pitch is an 840 Wh battery, which Specialized says can deliver up to 4.4 hours of ride time on a single charge. Real-world range will still depend heavily on terrain, assist level, and how aggressively the bike is ridden.
Built for serious use
The Levo 4 X is based on Specialized’s Levo 4 11m carbon frame platform and comes with geometry that can be adjusted to suit different riding preferences. That flexibility gives the bike a broader appeal than a typical trail-focused electric mountain bike.
Specialized also fitted integrated front and rear cargo racks rated to carry up to 22 kg or 48.5 lbs. That feature pushes the bike into a more practical lane, making it suitable for riders who may want to carry gear in addition to tackling demanding terrain.
Weight, however, is part of the trade-off. Specialized lists the Levo 4 X at 27.2 kg or 60 lbs, which places it firmly in heavyweight territory for an e-MTB.
Power, suspension, and braking hardware
For propulsion, the bike uses the S-Works 3.1 mid-drive motor. Specialized claims 111 Nm of torque and peak output of up to 850 W, numbers that put it in high-performance territory for electric mountain bikes.
The suspension setup is equally premium. Up front, the Levo 4 X uses a FOX 38 Factory fork with 160 mm of travel, while the rear is handled by a FOX Float X Factory shock with 150 mm of travel and Specialized’s GENIE technology.
That setup is paired with SRAM XX Eagle T-Type AXS wireless shifting and SRAM Maven Ultimate four-piston brakes. The braking system uses oversized 220 mm rotors at both ends, reinforcing the bike’s focus on control under load and on steep descents.
Modern features, premium pricing
Specialized has also added a 2.2-inch display, companion app support, and Apple Find My compatibility. Those additions give the Levo 4 X a more connected feel than many conventional mountain bikes.
The bike is offered in a single fiery red color and is priced at $11,999.99. It is available now through Specialized’s official website, positioning it as an expensive but unusually versatile option in the premium e-MTB market.
With a large battery, high-torque motor, adjustable geometry, and cargo-ready hardware, the Levo 4 X is clearly aimed at riders who want more than a standard trail bike. It combines off-road capability with practical carrying capacity, making it one of the more distinctive entries in Specialized’s electric lineup.
