HONOR has unveiled the Watch 6 with a headline feature that is hard to ignore: battery life of up to 35 days. In a smartwatch market where frequent charging is still common, that figure immediately separates the device from many mainstream rivals.
The battery is also unusually large for its class. HONOR says the Watch 6 uses a 980mAh cell, which is slightly larger than the 930mAh battery in the Xiaomi Watch 5 and may place it among the biggest-battery smartwatches from a major brand.
A return to HONOR’s main smartwatch line
The Watch 6 also marks the return of HONOR’s core smartwatch naming after a brief detour. The company released the HONOR Watch 5 in 2024, then followed it with the HONOR Watch 5 Ultra instead of a direct successor.
Against that Ultra model, the battery leap is substantial. The HONOR Watch 5 Ultra is rated for up to 15 days with a 480mAh battery, while the Watch 6 nearly doubles that capacity and more than doubles the quoted endurance.
Battery first, but not battery only
That 35-day claim is the central selling point, and it is likely to matter most to users who value convenience over constant recharging. In a crowded smartwatch field, endurance can be just as persuasive as a long feature list.
HONOR has not confirmed the operating system, but the Watch 6 is expected to follow the Watch 5 Ultra with a proprietary MagicOS platform rather than Wear OS. A lighter software stack would fit the emphasis on power efficiency.
Even so, the watch still carries a broad feature set. HONOR includes more than 120 sports modes, an AI-powered running coach, and dual-frequency GPS for more precise location tracking.
Bright display and broad health tracking
The Watch 6 uses a 1.46-inch circular OLED display. HONOR says the screen supports touch input even with wet hands and reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
While no other brightness figures were shared, the peak number suggests visibility remains a priority for the device. The display spec also helps position the watch as more than a battery-focused niche product.
Health monitoring covers heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep cycles, stress levels, and body energy. That places the Watch 6 firmly in the mainstream smartwatch category for everyday wellness tracking.
Other additions include Video Watch Face support, which works much like a live wallpaper, dual-phone pairing, an AI-based Recorder app, and hands-free gesture controls from the wrist.
Connectivity, durability, and storage
On the hardware side, the Watch 6 includes Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC depending on the market. It also carries an IP69 rating and 5ATM water resistance, giving it a solid durability profile.
HONOR also built in 4GB of internal storage. The company did not detail exactly how much of that space is reserved for local functions, but the presence of onboard storage adds flexibility to the device.
Two finishes, two style directions
Design-wise, the Watch 6 comes in Shadow Black and Twilight Brown. Both versions use a metal frame, but the front housing material differs between the two.
Shadow Black uses an aluminum front housing, while Twilight Brown switches to steel for a more premium feel. The straps also follow different directions, with fluoroelastomer on the black version and a brown leather strap on the brown model.
The split suggests HONOR is aiming at two distinct audiences. One version leans sporty and practical, while the other is built to look more classic and refined.
Price and availability
HONOR Watch 6 is already available in the United Kingdom. The recommended price is £249.99, or about ~$333, before any promotions.
For the first month of sales, HONOR is offering it at £169.99, or about ~$226, and is including a pair of HONOR Choice Earbuds Clip as a launch bonus.
With its 980mAh battery, 35-day endurance claim, and a full set of fitness and health features, the HONOR Watch 6 makes battery life its clearest point of attack. For buyers who want a smartwatch that spends less time on the charger and more time on the wrist, that may be enough to make it stand out.
