Honor Watch 6 Debuts With a Sharp Price Cut, Underpricing Apple and Samsung Again

Honor Watch 6 arrives with one clear advantage: a launch price that undercuts many of the biggest names in the smartwatch market. For early buyers in the UK, the watch starts at £150 before July 17, putting it well below comparable Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch models.

That aggressive pricing gives Honor an immediate talking point in a category where premium smartwatches have kept getting more expensive. The black rubber strap version drops from £230 to £150, while the brown leather strap model falls from £250 to £170 during the introductory offer.

A return to a round watch design

Watch 6 also marks Honor’s return to its standard smartwatch line after an absence of nearly 18 months. The new model moves away from the Apple Watch-like look of the Watch 5 and shifts to a traditional round face instead.

The case uses aluminium with a stainless steel bezel, while a full stainless steel case-and-bezel version is also available for buyers looking for a more premium finish. Color options include Shadow Black and Twilight Brown, matched to rubber and leather strap choices.

Honor places the crown at the 2 o’clock position, which gives the watch a distinct visual identity and may feel more natural to operate with a finger. The body is still fairly large, though, with a 46mm case that may look oversized on smaller wrists.

At 50 grams without the strap, the watch is not exactly light, but its 10.8mm thickness should keep it from feeling too bulky under a shirt cuff. Honor only offers one case size, so buyers looking for a compact smartwatch will have limited options.

Display, battery, and health tools

Inside, the Watch 6 carries a 1.46-inch AMOLED display with a 464 x 464 pixel resolution. That gives it a sharp panel for everyday use, especially for notifications, fitness stats, and watch faces.

The hardware package also includes 4GB of storage, a 980mAh battery, and compatibility with both Android and iOS through the companion app. Honor is also emphasizing long endurance, with a claimed battery life of up to 35 days in long-battery mode depending on usage.

Fitness tracking is another major part of the feature set. Honor says the watch supports more than 120 sports modes and adds dual-band GPS for more accurate outdoor activity tracking.

Health monitoring includes sleep, stress, blood oxygen, and heart rate tracking. Honor also adds Quick Health Scan, a feature designed to surface several key health metrics at a glance.

Durability is covered by an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. That suggests the watch is built to handle a wide range of conditions, even if real-world endurance will still depend on how it is used.

Why the price matters most

The combination of a lower launch price, a larger battery, and broad platform support is what makes Honor Watch 6 stand out most. In a smartwatch market crowded with expensive options, the starting price of £150 for the black rubber strap model and £170 for the brown leather version gives it a clear value edge.

Honor has confirmed availability in the UK for now, but there is no confirmed US launch yet. That leaves buyers in other regions waiting for word on whether the watch will expand beyond its current rollout.
