POCO has introduced the X8 Pro Yellow in Indonesia with a clear message: this is a smartphone built to stand out before it even reaches the spec sheet. The yellow finish remains central to the brand’s identity, but this time it is paired with a racing-inspired design and an unusual communication feature that does not rely on a mobile signal.
The new variant is aimed at users who want high performance and a more distinctive visual identity in a device that still fits demanding daily use. For gamers in particular, the model is positioned as a fast, durable, and highly practical option.
Racing-inspired look with stronger protection
POCO describes the design direction as Racetrack Aesthetics, a concept that gives the rear panel a more aggressive appearance through dynamic lines. The camera module also carries a Dynamic RGB Light that can be adjusted to suit user preference.
To reinforce durability, the phone uses a premium metal frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications for protection against dust, splashes, and high-pressure water exposure.
Novita Krisutami, PR Manager of POCO Indonesia, said the Yellow color has long represented courage and a willingness to break away from convention. In her statement, she noted that Yellow has been part of POCO’s identity from the beginning.
Dimensity 8500-Ultra powers the performance focus
At the center of the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, built on a 4 nm process. POCO says the chipset can reach an AnTuTu score of up to 2.2 million points, placing performance firmly at the forefront of the device’s appeal.
The phone also receives graphics improvements intended to handle modern games with more realistic visuals. To keep performance stable over longer sessions, POCO includes WildBoost Optimization and a POCO 3D Dual-layer IceLoop cooling system measuring 5,300 mm².
That combination is designed to maintain frame rate stability while reducing overheating during demanding gaming sessions. It also helps position the handset as a practical choice for multitasking beyond gaming alone.
Large AMOLED display and fast charging back the package
POCO X8 Pro Yellow comes with a 1.5K AMOLED display and a peak brightness level of up to 3,500 nits. The panel is intended to remain easy to view even under strong sunlight.
Battery life is supported by a 6,500 mAh Silicon-Carbon battery. The device also supports 100W HyperCharge, which POCO says can recharge the phone from 1 percent to full in around 48 minutes.
There is also 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to provide emergency power to other devices. That addition makes it more useful for users who spend a lot of time away from a charger.
Camera, software, and offline communication
On the imaging side, the handset uses a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization. The setup is meant to deliver sharper and steadier photos and video.
Software duties are handled by Xiaomi HyperOS 3, paired with HyperAI and Google Gemini for AI-based productivity features. The software combination gives the device a broader role beyond performance and battery endurance.
The most eye-catching feature is Xiaomi Offline Communication. It allows voice communication through a standalone network without credit or a cellular signal within a radius of around one kilometer.
POCO presents that feature as a practical tool for emergency situations and for areas with limited network access. The X8 Pro Yellow will be available in Indonesia starting 25 June 2026 through official sales channels, combining bold styling, strong hardware, and a rare signal-free communication option.
