OPPO Reno 16 is shaping up to be one of the most attention-grabbing mid-premium phones expected for Indonesia. Its headline features are hard to ignore: a 200MP main camera, a 6700mAh battery, and a design that still manages to look compact and refined.

The model was first introduced globally on 25 May 2026 and became available on 29 May 2026. With a starting price around Rp 8 jutaan globally, the device is positioned for users who want a complete feature set without moving into flagship territory.

Compact body with serious protection

Reno 16 uses a glass front and aluminum frame, giving it a premium look and feel. Its dimensions are listed at 151.2 x 72.4 x 8.2 mm or 8.4 mm, with a weight of about 188–191 grams.

The phone also supports dual Nano-SIM and carries IP68/IP69K certification. That means it is protected against dust and high-pressure water, and it can survive immersion of up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

AMOLED display built for bright outdoor use

On the front, OPPO Reno 16 comes with a 6.32-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1216 x 2640 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 1 billion colors, and 3840Hz PWM dimming.

Brightness is another key advantage. The panel is rated at 600 nits typical, 1800 nits in HBM, and up to 3600 nits peak, which should help visibility under direct sunlight.

Dimensity 8500 Super powers daily use and gaming

For performance, the phone is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Super built on a 4nm process. The CPU setup includes one Cortex-A725 core at 3.4 GHz, three Cortex-A725 cores at 3.2 GHz, and four Cortex-A725 cores at 2.2 GHz.

Graphics duties are handled by the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU. With this hardware, Reno 16 is positioned to handle gaming, multitasking, and other demanding tasks in its class.

Large memory options, but no microSD

OPPO offers several memory configurations for the Reno 16. The available options include 256GB/12GB RAM, 256GB/16GB RAM, 512GB/12GB RAM, 512GB/16GB RAM, and 1TB/16GB RAM.

All variants use UFS 3.1 storage. There is no microSD slot, so buyers will need to choose their internal storage carefully from the start.

200MP triple camera setup leads the spec sheet

The camera system is one of the strongest points of the Reno 16. The rear setup consists of a 200MP wide main camera with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and OIS.

It is joined by a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, plus a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 116-degree field of view. Other imaging tools include a color spectrum sensor, multi-focus LED flash, HDR, and panorama support.

Video recording on the rear camera goes up to 4K at 30/60fps, while 1080p recording can reach 240fps. Gyro-EIS and HDR are also available to help stabilize and improve footage.

The front camera resolution has not been specified, but selfie video recording is supported at up to 4K 30/60fps and 1080p 60fps. HDR support makes it suitable for selfies, vlogging, and social content.

A 6700mAh battery with flexible charging support

Battery life should be a major draw thanks to the 6700mAh cell inside Reno 16. Charging support includes 80W wired charging, 55W PPS, 44W or 80W UFCS, 13.5W PD, and reverse wired charging.

That combination gives the phone a clear advantage for heavy users who need long endurance and efficient top-ups during the day.

Modern connectivity rounds out the package

Connectivity support covers GSM, HSPA, LTE, and 5G. It also includes Wi-Fi 6 dual-band, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, infrared, and USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG.

The sensor package is equally practical, with an in-display fingerprint reader, gyroscope, compass, accelerometer, and proximity sensor. Taken together, the Reno 16 looks ready for demanding daily use in a modern smartphone market.
