Tag Heuer’s Golf Smartwatch Adds Auto Shot Tracking and a Darker Premium Look

Tag Heuer has taken a more focused route with its latest premium smartwatch, and the result is aimed squarely at golfers who want more than a luxury accessory. The Connected Calibre E5 x TaylorMade Edition combines a high-end build with software designed to track a round with minimal manual input.

The most notable change is not limited to appearance. Tag Heuer says the watch can automatically record shots and user position during play, making it easier to follow a round without repeatedly stopping to enter data.

Built for golfers who want less interruption

The golf experience is central to this edition. Certain watch faces support complications that surface relevant information while a round is in progress, helping players keep key data visible at a glance.

Once a game begins, Tag Heuer’s algorithm can capture each shot and location automatically. That approach is meant to reduce friction on the course, especially for players who want to stay focused on the game rather than the screen.

The collected data is then turned into performance analysis. One of the highlighted metrics is strokes gained, which compares a player’s performance against a baseline to provide a clearer picture of how well they played.

The bezel has also been tailored for golf use. Its markings run from 1 to 18 and are used in the smartwatch’s golf app to indicate progress around the course.

A darker finish, with TaylorMade details throughout

Tag Heuer has kept the premium identity intact by using a grade 2 titanium case with a black Diamond-Like Carbon, or DLC, coating. This is the first time the model has received a black DLC finish, giving it a darker and more assertive look.

The TaylorMade branding is carried onto the back of the case, where a heart rate sensor sits alongside the logo. The same name also appears on the crown, reinforcing the collaboration’s visual identity.

The special presentation box includes two strap choices. One is a blue leather strap with gray stitching and a white line, while the other uses textile material with a similar color scheme.

More than a watch collaboration

The partnership extends beyond the smartwatch itself and into a capsule collection of golf gear from TaylorMade. That range includes the TaylorMade Spider ZT x TAG Heuer putter, along with a TaylorMade x TAG Heuer duffle bag and several apparel items.

This broader package makes the collaboration feel closer to a lifestyle line than a single product drop. It is aimed at golfers who care as much about the look of their gear as they do about the technology on their wrist.

For Tag Heuer, the release marks the first major special edition for the Connected Calibre E5. The company has previously shown interest in this niche, however, so the collaboration follows a path it has already established.

Core hardware stays familiar

Under the themed exterior, the smartwatch keeps the same main hardware platform as the standard model. It comes with a 45 mm case, a 1.39-inch AMOLED display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5100+ processor.

Other included features are GPS, water resistance up to 50 meters, sports tracking, sleep monitoring, a 90-minute charging time, and Tag Heuer OS. The hardware package is therefore familiar, while the golf-specific experience is what separates this edition from the regular model.

Why the collaboration makes sense

Tag Heuer has been building in this category for years. The brand launched its first golf-focused Connected Golf Edition in 2019, and it also released a quartz golf watch in 2005.

TaylorMade brings equally long-standing credibility, having produced golf equipment since 1979. That combination gives the project a clear logic: one brand contributes premium wearable experience, while the other adds deep roots in golf hardware.

Connected Calibre E5 x TaylorMade Edition is scheduled to go on sale in June 2026. Pricing is set at $2,550 in the US and £2,150 in the UK.
