Xiaomi Indonesia has introduced the REDMI Buds 8 as a new TWS option in the Rp600,000 range, and its most striking feature is active noise cancellation of up to 50 dB. That level of noise reduction places the earbud among the more ambitious entries in its price class.
The model is aimed at mobile users who split time between work, commuting, exercise, and entertainment. Xiaomi positions it as a practical audio device for daily use, especially for people who want fewer distractions in busy environments.
Noise control built for daily movement
The headline feature is the ANC system, which Xiaomi says can reduce noise up to 50 dB across frequencies reaching 4 kHz. That gives the REDMI Buds 8 a clear advantage for listening in crowded spaces, online meetings, and voice calls.
To make the earbud more adaptable, Xiaomi also includes three transparency modes. These modes are meant to help users stay aware of their surroundings without taking the earbuds out, which is useful on roads, in public transport, and in other shared spaces.
| Feature | REDMI Buds 8 | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| ANC | Up to 50 dB | Helps block louder background noise |
| Frequency Range | Up to 4 kHz | Covers a wider range of everyday sounds |
| Transparency Modes | 3 modes | Lets users stay aware of nearby activity |
Sound tuning that feels more personal
For audio, the REDMI Buds 8 uses an 11 mm dynamic driver. Xiaomi says the setup is designed to deliver stronger bass and a more lively level of detail across different genres.
Sound can also be adjusted through the Xiaomi Earbuds app, which offers five equalizer presets and manual tuning. That gives users more control over how music, podcasts, and other content sound based on individual preference.
Calls, battery life, and fast charging
Communication is supported by triple-mic AI noise reduction, which Xiaomi says can help reduce wind interference at speeds of up to 12 m/s. The feature is intended to keep voice calls clearer when the earbuds are used outdoors.
Battery life is another strong point. Xiaomi claims the REDMI Buds 8 can last up to 11 hours on a single charge, or up to 44 hours when used with the charging case.
The earbud also supports fast charging, with 10 minutes of charging said to provide up to 4 hours of listening time. The case includes a battery indicator as a simple way to check remaining power.
Colors, pricing, and availability
In Indonesia, the REDMI Buds 8 comes in Black, White, and Green. Xiaomi is offering it as a straightforward daily-use TWS that combines utility, portability, and a clean design.
The product will go on sale in Indonesia starting 25 June 2026 at an official price of Rp699,000. It will be sold through Mi.com, Tokopedia, Shopee, TikTok Shop, Blibli, and Lazada, as well as offline channels including Xiaomi Store, Erafone, Digiplus, UR, and Blibli Store.
During the initial sales period, buyers will also receive a free 2-month Spotify Premium Standard subscription and a Rp50,000 discount for the purchase of the REDMI Note 15 Series.
