Wuthering Waves is preparing for one of its biggest updates yet, and the timing matters as much as the content. Version 3.5 arrives on 10 July and will also mark the game’s native launch on Xbox Series X|S, alongside an expanded PC presence through Microsoft Store.
The update is not limited to platform expansion. Kuro Games is layering in a new region, character adjustments, visual cosmetics, and several technical improvements that could reshape how players experience the game across devices.
New region centers the update
The headline addition is Mengzhou, described as the Land of Xuanfang. It is divided into four exploration areas: Xuanfang Hold, Xuan Peaks, Fang Peaks, and Yuan Hills.
That expansion gives players a fresh space to explore while also setting the stage for new content tied to the update’s main banners and gameplay changes.
| Version 3.5 Highlights | Details | Platform or Character Impact |
|---|---|---|
| New Region | Mengzhou, Land of Xuanfang | Four exploration areas |
| Xbox Release | Native Xbox Series X|S launch | Also expands on Microsoft Store for PC |
| Technical Upgrades | Intel XeSS 3 Frame Generation, file compression, mobile cleanup tools | Performance and storage improvements |
Two five-star Resonators lead the banners
Kuro Games is also introducing two five-star Resonators for the main banner. Yangyang: Xuanling arrives as a Havoc Sword main DPS unit, while Suisui uses a Glacio Rectifier and focuses on HP-based healing and damage buffs.
The weapon banner will feature their signature equipment, Azure Oath and Firstlight’s Herald. The rerun slot is filled by Aemeath, Luuk Herssen, and Lynae.
Rover gets an element upgrade
One of the more notable gameplay changes is the upgrade for Rover, who gains an Electro element in version 3.5. That change gives the main character a new combat direction and broadens how the roster may be used in future encounters.
The update also brings two premium outfits. Lynae receives the Peppermint outfit, while Chixia gets a new summer-themed look.
Performance and storage changes go across platforms
On PC, Wuthering Waves adds native support for Intel XeSS 3 Frame Generation. The feature is intended to help smooth performance and reduce unstable frame rates.
Kuro Games is also using more aggressive asset compression, a change that cuts the overall installation directory size by around 20GB.
Mobile players on Android and iOS are getting a more useful Resource Cleanup menu as well. It allows permanent deletion of unused voice localization data so devices can free up storage more effectively.
Quality-of-life tools extend beyond combat
Version 3.5 also adds a new audio configuration that lets players map languages individually for each Resonator in open-world play. The setting does not apply to main story quests, which keeps narrative presentation consistent.
For dialogue, a Full Auto Mode is being added so cutscenes can continue without waiting for player input choices. Kuro Games is also improving the guidebook map by letting it auto-fill material locations in Jinzhou, Black Shores, and Rinascita.
That change reduces the need for manual pin placement when tracking resources across the game world, especially for players who spend time gathering materials between major quests and exploration runs.
The package makes version 3.5 feel like a broad system update rather than a simple content drop. Between the Xbox Series debut, new region, fresh characters, and technical revisions, Wuthering Waves is using the patch to expand both its audience and its long-term playability.
