Oppo has introduced the Reno16 Series in Indonesia with a sharper focus on AI features, camera performance, and a more distinctive design. The lineup consists of the Reno16 Pro 5G, Reno16 5G, and Reno16 F 5G, all powered by ColorOS 16 for productivity and creative use.
The launch signals Oppo’s continued push in the upper-midrange segment, where the phone is positioned as a tool for content creation as much as communication. Oppo Indonesia Chief Marketing Officer Jiang Linlin said smartphones have become the main device for self-expression, and the Reno16 Series was built to make that process feel as simple as one click.
Design that stands out at first glance
The most visible change in the Reno16 Series is its Planet 3D design, which Oppo says defines the new Reno identity. The Pop White version uses HoloVerse 3D technology, described as an industry first, with a back panel built from millions of micro-lenses that create a planet-like and nebula-style effect under light.
The rear panel also uses a cold-sculpted one-piece back cover that blends into the camera module. Oppo says the result is a more premium look without sacrificing comfort during daily use.
Display sizes vary across the lineup. The Reno16 Pro 5G and Reno16 5G come with a 6.32-inch panel, while the Reno16 F 5G uses a larger 6.57-inch display for users who want more screen space.
OPPO Indonesia Brand Ambassador Iqbaal Ramadhan said the new design is more than a visual update. He described the planet-inspired look as a symbol of creative freedom, supported by AI tools that help with productivity and content-making.
AI Photography aims to reduce editing steps
Oppo pairs hardware and software to strengthen the camera experience. All three Reno16 Series models carry a high-resolution main camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a telephoto camera with around 3.5x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide camera.
The Reno16 Pro 5G is equipped with a 200MP Ultra Clear Camera that lets users crop images with far less loss of detail. On the front, the phone offers a 50MP Ultra Wide selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view so more subjects can fit into one frame.
Oppo also adds AI Photography features that create Digicam-style, Instant Film, and Light Leak effects through Pop Camera without needing an extra app. Editing tools include AI Collage Mix, Popout Collage 2.0, AI Remix Collage, 4K Ultra Stable Video, and Dual View Video 2.0.
Iqbaal Ramadhan said these tools make content creation more practical. He noted that AI Remix Collage can turn many photos into a more vivid story, while Pop Camera adds instant character without switching applications.
ColorOS 16 puts AI in daily use
ColorOS 16 sits at the center of the AI experience on the Reno16 Series. One of the new features is AI Snap Key, which offers quick access to AI Mind Space, a digital storage area that automatically organizes notes, images, and important information.
There is also AI Bill Manager, which helps record transactions and manage spending from payment receipts. For broader information search, Oppo includes AI Mind Pilot, which can use three AI models at once: ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.
The system selects the model that best fits the user’s needs or shows several answers at once for more reference points. For people who travel often, AI Menu Translation can translate restaurant menus, explain ingredients, detect possible allergens, and automatically convert prices.

Battery capacity is generous across the range. The Reno16 Pro 5G and Reno16 5G each carry a 6,700mAh battery, while the Reno16 F 5G steps up to 7,000mAh.
All versions support 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge for fast replenishment. Oppo also equips the lineup with AI HyperBoost 3.0, AI LinkBoost 4.0, IP68/IP69/IP69K certification, Splash Touch, and Glove Touch for more responsive use in different conditions.
Oppo Bubble and Indonesia pricing
Beyond the phones, Oppo introduced Oppo Bubble, a 35-gram magnetic accessory that can work as a rear-camera monitor and a remote shutter from up to 10 meters away. It can also be customized with images, animations, or text.
