The Honda Monkey 2026 arrives with a refresh that keeps its classic identity intact while giving the model a noticeably more distinctive look. PT Astra Honda Motor has introduced new colors and a checkerboard-pattern seat to reinforce its image as a premium hobby bike.
The update is aimed at buyers who want something compact, stylish, and different from the usual small-displacement motorcycle. AHM has left the core design untouched, but the visual changes are enough to give the Monkey a fresher presence on the road.
Three new colors and a more expressive look
The most visible change comes through three new color options: Banana Yellow, Millenium Red, and Pearl Cadet Gray. Each one gives the Honda Monkey a stronger personality, with a look that feels more playful and fashion-forward.
That impression is reinforced by the new checkerboard seat pattern. The detail adds a unique touch that sets the motorcycle apart from the previous version without straying from its familiar miniature retro style.
| Update | Details |
|---|---|
| New colors | Banana Yellow, Millenium Red, Pearl Cadet Gray |
| Seat design | Checkerboard-pattern seat |
| Core identity | Classic compact Monkey silhouette retained |
Marketing Director AHM Octavianus Dwi said the color update and seat motif make the Honda Monkey more appealing while preserving its identity. He also noted that the model has a clear place among customers who see motorcycles as part of their lifestyle.
Classic form, modern equipment
Even with the styling refresh, the Honda Monkey still carries its compact and recognizable body shape. The company did not change the engine, chassis, or the premium mini bike character that has long defined the model.
That approach keeps the motorcycle familiar for existing fans while making it feel more assertive for new buyers. The focus of this update is clearly on appearance rather than mechanical revision.
The Monkey continues to use a 125 cc single-cylinder SOHC 2-valve air-cooled engine paired with PGM-FI fuel injection. Power is sent through a five-speed manual transmission, giving the bike a responsive feel from low to higher revs.
Engine and ride setup remain unchanged
The engine has a bore and stroke of 50.0 x 63.1 mm with a compression ratio of 10.0:1. Its character is designed for urban use and relaxed riding, which suits the Monkey’s role as a compact lifestyle motorcycle.
For information display, the Honda Monkey still uses a digital instrument panel. The screen shows speedometer data, a six-segment fuel gauge, an odometer, and two trip meters.
Lighting is fully LED throughout the motorcycle, helping provide better illumination. The suspension setup uses a Showa upside-down front fork and twin rear suspension to support comfort and a sporty feel.
Premium small-bike details stay in place
The Honda Monkey also keeps its block-pattern tires, which contribute to both its visual character and road grip. The front tire measures 120/80-12 65J, while the rear uses a 130/80-12 69J size.
Those choices support the Monkey’s image as a distinctive premium hobby bike rather than a conventional commuter model. The overall package remains compact, but the styling and specification still give it a strong identity.
PT Astra Honda Motor is selling the Honda Monkey 2026 at Rp 88.094.000 On The Road (OTR) DKI Jakarta. With its fresh colors, checkerboard seat, and retained mechanical package, the model continues to stand out in the hobby motorcycle segment.
