Tecno Pova 8 5G arrives with a clear pitch for users who want more than a large battery and a futuristic design. Its most notable addition is a set of AI tools aimed at communication, productivity, and photography.
The phone is built around an 8,000 mAh battery, which Tecno says is designed to support up to two days of use. It also includes two coprocessors, the G1 Signal Enhancement Chip and the SE1 Wi-Fi Enhancement Chip, to help keep the experience stable.
AI built for everyday tasks
At its launch in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, TECNO Indonesia PR Manager Anthoni Roderick said the AI features in the Pova 8 5G are meant to make daily activities easier, faster, and more effective. That positioning makes the device stand out not just as a battery-focused phone, but as one built around practical assistance.
The design also includes Alive Matrix Display, an interactive lighting system that can be used for incoming calls, notifications, music playback, gaming, charging, and more. Users can customize 49 lighting scenarios and animation patterns to make the device feel more personal.

Among the most attention-grabbing additions is AI Language Coach, which is designed to help users practice languages. Anthoni said the experience feels similar to taking a foreign-language lesson, giving the feature a more practical edge than a simple translation tool.
For cleaner communication, All-Scenario Noise Cancellation is designed to suppress background noise during calls, online meetings, and video recording. TECNO also includes AI Health Assistant to answer basic health-related questions for day-to-day use.
Productivity and photo tools
On the productivity side, Flash Memo is intended to help users collect and expand ideas more efficiently. Tecno also adds AI YouTube Summary, which can turn a copied video link into a set of key points.
Photography gets its own AI support through AI LightMaster 2.0, which aims to reduce glare, flare, and distracting shadows. The feature is meant to make image capture more usable in difficult lighting conditions.
Tecno says the phone will also receive two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates, extending its useful life beyond the initial launch period. Buyers will also get 256GB of free cloud storage for three years.
The Pova 8 5G comes in Arc White, Graphite Black, Echo Green, and Helios Orange. Pre-orders run at Tecno stores across Indonesia from July 9, 2026, to July 20, 2026, while e-commerce pre-orders run from July 16, 2026, at 00.00 WIB to July 20, 2026, at 23.59 WIB.
