Motorola Edge 70 Pro Set For April 22 Debut, 144Hz Display And 50MP Cameras Target Premium Rivals

Motorola is preparing to bring the Edge 70 Pro to India on 22 April, and the device is positioned as a premium-leaning option for users who want speed, strong cameras, and long battery life in one package. The phone will be sold through Flipkart, Motorola’s official website, and offline retail stores.

The new model arrives after a series of teasers that helped build attention ahead of launch. Motorola is aiming the Edge 70 Pro at buyers who want a fast display, upper mid-range performance, and a full camera setup without moving into a fully flagship category.

Display built for smooth use

At the front, the Edge 70 Pro uses a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution. Motorola has also listed a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 5,200 nits, which should help the screen stay readable outdoors while also making everyday scrolling feel more fluid.

Those display specifications also make the phone more suitable for entertainment and gaming. A high refresh rate can improve the feel of movement on screen, while the bright panel should support better visibility in different lighting conditions.

MediaTek power and cooling support

For performance, Motorola has chosen the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset. The phone is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, giving it room for multitasking and heavier app workloads.

Motorola has also included a 4,600 mm² vapor chamber to manage heat. Such a cooling system becomes important during longer gaming sessions or while recording video, when temperatures can rise quickly and affect sustained performance.

Triple 50MP camera system

Camera hardware is another major focus of the Edge 70 Pro. The rear setup includes three 50MP sensors, led by a main camera with a Sony Lytia 710 sensor and OIS for improved stability.

Motorola also adds a 50MP ultrawide camera and a multispectral sensor, expanding the phone’s shooting options. On the front, the device carries a 50MP selfie camera for video calls and self-portraits with higher detail capture.

Large battery and fast charging

Battery capacity is one of the most notable specifications on the sheet. The Edge 70 Pro comes with a 6,500mAh battery, supported by 90W fast charging to reduce waiting time between charges.

That combination is likely to appeal to users who spend long hours away from a charger. Motorola also ships the phone with Android 16 out of the box, along with a promise of three years of operating system updates and five years of security updates.

Durability, audio, and color options

Motorola has not limited the device to performance and imaging alone. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, while IP68/IP69 certification gives the phone resistance against dust and water exposure.

The Edge 70 Pro also supports Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos, and Motorola has included AI-based features as part of the experience. Color options will include Pantone Lily White, Pantone Tea, and Pantone Titan, giving the phone a relatively clean and premium visual identity.
