Casio’s Oceanus line has gained another attention-grabbing release with the Oceanus OCW-T2600AP-1A, a model built around a striking blue dial and a limited production run of just 800 units for Japan. The watch is part of the Indigo Ocean – Awa Indigo series, alongside the OCW-S7000AP-1A and OCW-S6000AP-1A.
What makes the OCW-T2600AP-1A stand out is not only its rarity, but also the way color defines its identity. Rather than using blue as a minor accent, Casio places it at the center of the design, creating a look that feels more expressive while still staying within Oceanus’ clean and refined aesthetic.
A dial built around depth and contrast
The most noticeable part of the watch is its dial composition, which combines blue, black, and silver in a balanced layout. Three mother-of-pearl subdials receive different shades of blue through the traditional Japanese Awa Indigo dyeing technique, giving each one a distinct visual presence.
Those subdials sit over a black wave-pattern background, which sharpens the contrast without making the design feel crowded. The use of mother-of-pearl also adds a shifting reflection that changes with viewing angle, making the blue appear more alive and layered across the dial.
Premium materials support the design
Casio continues the premium theme beyond the dial itself. The bezel uses a navy ion-plated finish, while the case and bracelet are made of silver titanium.
That material pairing helps the watch maintain a light visual profile while still projecting a luxury feel. In the Oceanus context, the combination also reinforces the idea that finish and construction remain central to the line’s identity, not just the technical features.
Function remains as important as appearance
Despite the decorative emphasis, the OCW-T2600AP-1A still carries the practical capabilities expected from a higher-end Oceanus model. It includes radio-controlled Multiband 6 time synchronization, which helps keep time aligned automatically.
The watch also supports world time, with time zone markings placed on the dial ring for easier international reference. Its main display stays analog and uses three hands, along with a date indicator and a day display. A 1/20-second stopwatch is integrated into one of the subdials, keeping the additional function visible without reducing overall legibility.
Made for regular wear, not only display
Casio equips the model with 100-meter water resistance, making it suitable for everyday use rather than being limited to collector display. It also includes Tough Solar, the brand’s solar charging system designed to extend battery life and reduce the need for frequent charging or replacement.
That mix of durability and power efficiency fits the broader Oceanus approach, which often blends precision-oriented technology with a polished exterior. In this case, the result is a watch that can serve both as a functional accessory and as a standout design piece.
Limited availability strengthens collector appeal
Casio plans to release the Oceanus OCW-T2600AP-1A in Japan on 22 May with a price of ¥154,000. The production cap of only 800 units makes the model a clearly limited edition and increases its appeal among Oceanus collectors.
At present, Casio has not announced availability for other markets, so the watch remains tied to the Japan release information that has been disclosed so far. With Awa Indigo, mother-of-pearl, titanium, Multiband 6, and Tough Solar combined in one model, the OCW-T2600AP-1A presents a distinct interpretation of the modern Oceanus formula.
