Moto G87 Leaks Through Support Listings, 2TB microSD and Dimensity 6000 Series Raise the Stakes for G Series

Motorola’s Moto G87 has surfaced quietly through official support material and a retailer listing, giving the clearest sign yet that a new G Series model is being prepared. The early details point to a device that could sit above the Moto G67 and Moto G77, helped by a large storage expansion option and a MediaTek Dimensity 6000-series chipset.

The most eye-catching detail is the microSD support, which appears to go all the way up to 2TB. That figure comes from Motorola’s own support page, where the hardware outline for the Moto G87 also shows a hybrid SIM setup.

Expanded storage stands out

A hybrid slot means users must choose between two SIM cards or one SIM card plus a microSD card. For buyers who routinely store large photos, videos, documents, and other files, that level of expansion is a strong advantage in the midrange category.

Motorola is also said to be preparing 256GB of internal storage for the Moto G87. Combined with up to 2TB of expandable memory, the device would offer considerably more flexibility than many competitors in the same class.

Retail listing adds memory and pricing clues

The Moto G87 has also been spotted on the Italian retailer Epto, where a specific memory configuration is shown. The listing mentions 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with a price of €406,89.

That price places it above the Moto G67, which is sold at around €300, and the Moto G77, which is listed at around €350. The retailer appearance is not an official launch announcement, but it often suggests that a device is already moving through early distribution channels.

Chipset hints point to the Dimensity 6000 family

Another important clue comes from firmware references tied to the Moto G87. Those references include the code name “Naples” and the MT6835 platform, both associated with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6000-series family.

Based on those signs, the possible chip options include the Dimensity 6100+, Dimensity 6300, or Dimensity 6400. There is also still a chance that Motorola could choose the newer Dimensity 6500, although that has not been confirmed.

For comparison, the Moto G67 uses the Dimensity 6300, while the Moto G77 is powered by the Dimensity 6400. That makes the Moto G87 look like a natural step forward within the lineup, even before Motorola confirms any technical details.

Color options remain partially hidden

Motorola is said to be preparing the Moto G87 in two Pantone colors, Overture Gray and Blue Atoll. No official renders have appeared yet, so the final design cannot be verified at this stage.

The firmware, however, suggests that more color choices may exist behind the scenes. Wallpaper names linked to Arctic Seal, Black Olive, Nile, and Shaded Spruce were found in the software, which often points to additional variants that may be revealed closer to launch.

With 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, support for a 2TB microSD card, and a likely Dimensity 6000-series processor, the Moto G87 is shaping up as one of the more capable entries in Motorola’s G Series. Motorola has not announced full specifications or an official introduction date, but the support pages, retailer listing, and firmware traces all indicate that the phone is getting close to a public debut.
