Lenovo is lining up a compact gaming tablet that aims to deliver flagship-class speed without the bulk of a larger device. The Legion Y700 Gen 5 pairs an 8.8-inch display with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, making it one of the more attention-grabbing Android tablets in the premium gaming segment.
The device is scheduled to launch in China in March 2026. Its small footprint suggests Lenovo is targeting users who value portability, a comfortable hand grip, and quick on-device response during demanding gaming sessions.
Flagship power in a small body
At the center of the Legion Y700 Gen 5 is Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the chipset that pushes the tablet into flagship territory. That choice gives the device room to handle heavy games and other intensive tasks more comfortably.
Lenovo is also pairing the processor with a third-generation Qiankun cooling system. The company adds a 17,353 mm² vapor chamber, which is meant to help control heat during long sessions or when handling 4K video workloads.
That combination shows the tablet is being positioned not only for peak benchmark numbers, but also for sustained performance. For a compact gaming tablet, thermal stability can matter just as much as raw speed.
A fast 3K display built for gaming
The front side uses an 8.8-inch LCD panel with 3K resolution. In practical terms, that keeps the device portable while still offering a sharp visual canvas for games, video playback, and general navigation.
Lenovo also gives the panel a 165Hz refresh rate. For gaming, that kind of refresh rate helps motion look smoother and makes menu transitions or competitive gameplay feel more responsive.
The mix of a high-resolution panel and a fast refresh rate is one of the main draws here. It fits users who want a fluid visual experience without moving to a larger tablet that becomes less convenient to carry.
Battery capacity and connectivity choices
Despite its compact size, the Legion Y700 Gen 5 carries a 9,000 mAh battery. That capacity should provide a solid power reserve for gaming, entertainment, and other long-form use.
Lenovo also includes two USB Type-C ports, a feature that adds flexibility in daily use. It makes it easier to charge the tablet while keeping other accessories connected, such as wired earphones or a gamepad.
The box also contains a 68W PD adapter. Lenovo says the charger can power two devices at once and has air-travel safety certification, which adds convenience for users who move between locations often.
