Black Toast Arrives With Gochujang And Buldak In Janji Jiwa’s Limited-Edition Korean-Inspired Series

Janji Jiwa is pushing Jiwa Toast into a more daring flavor direction through the Black Toast Series, a limited menu line built around black bread and Korean-inspired seasoning. The release combines a striking appearance with two distinct taste profiles, aiming to capture customers who want more than a practical grab-and-go option.

The move reflects a broader shift in food and beverage preferences, where visual appeal and stronger flavor character increasingly matter as much as convenience. In this setting, menu innovation is no longer only about speed or simplicity, but also about creating a product that feels different enough to stand out and memorable enough to invite repeat orders.

A clearer signal of changing taste

Marketing Director Jiwa Group Grace Surya said the Black Toast Series was developed from customer aspirations for something bolder and more distinctive. That direction aligns with how brands now compete in a market where novelty can quickly influence buying decisions.

Rather than relying only on familiar fast-food positioning, the new series places flavor identity at the center. The result is a product line designed to attract attention visually, then hold it through a taste profile that leaves a stronger impression.

Black bread as the main visual cue

The most immediate difference in the series is the black bread used in Janji Jiwa’s signature toast. The dark color gives the menu a clear visual edge and makes it stand apart from the brand’s existing offerings.

Texture also plays a role in the appeal. The bread is described as light and crisp on the outside, while staying soft and fluffy inside, creating a contrast that supports the overall eating experience.

Two options, two flavor paths

Black Toast Series arrives in two variants, each built with a different balance of savory, sweet, and spicy notes. That split gives customers room to choose according to how far they want to go on the flavor scale.

  1. Honey Gochujang Chicken
This version combines juicy chicken, honey gochujang sauce, creamy mayo, fresh lettuce, and coleslaw. The mix is designed to bring together sweetness, savoriness, and a mild level of heat.

  2. Spicy Buldak Chicken
This option includes juicy chicken with spicy buldak sauce, creamy mayo, fresh lettuce, and coleslaw. Its profile is sharper and more intense, with a stronger spicy kick for consumers who prefer bolder heat.

The two recipes show how Jiwa Toast is using Korean flavor influences in a way that still offers clear differentiation between one menu and another. Gochujang and buldak are both familiar references, but they create different taste experiences that can appeal to different groups of buyers.

Launched with a dedicated event

To introduce the series, Janji Jiwa held a special launch event at Janji Jiwa Summarecon Mall Serpong. The event brought together several key opinion leaders, or KOLs, along with the Good Vibes Tribe community, who were invited to try the new menu firsthand.

The launch format reinforced the idea that the product is part of a broader brand experience. Black Toast Series is also available at Janji Jiwa and Janji Jiwa Culture outlets as a limited edition offering, giving customers the chance to try a toast line built around a different look and a more assertive taste profile.
