HyperX Expands Its Gaming Lineup, Adding Modular Clutch Talon And A Wireless Cloud Stinger 3

HyperX is widening its gaming lineup with two very different products that share the same theme: more flexibility. One is the Clutch Talon, a modular Xbox-licensed controller built around adjustable controls, while the other is the Cloud Stinger 3, which now comes in a wireless version for both consoles and PC.

The timing also matters because HyperX is pairing the hardware update with a refreshed NGENUITY software experience. That means the company is not only adding new devices, but also trying to make personalization easier across its compatible accessories.

A controller built for adjustment

Clutch Talon follows the familiar shape of a standard Xbox Series controller, but it brings more customization options than a typical first-party gamepad. Its official Xbox license makes it a straightforward fit for users already inside that ecosystem.

HyperX equips the controller with Hall effect joysticks and Hall effect triggers with lock. The company positions that setup as an upgrade over traditional Xbox controllers because it should deliver more accurate input and longer durability, even as the wider industry also moves toward TMR.

Connectivity is another major part of the pitch. Clutch Talon supports 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, which opens it beyond consoles and PC to mobile gaming as well.

Battery life and mobile-friendly extras

HyperX says the internal 1,000 mAh battery can last up to 30 hours. Charging happens over USB-C, and the controller also includes a 3.5 mm audio jack for wired headsets.

The package is designed around modular use. It ships with a pair of alternative triggers, a pair of alternative sticks, a pair of paddles, and two types of D-pad.

HyperX also includes a mobile clip for attaching a phone to the controller. A carrying case is part of the bundle as well, reinforcing the idea that this product is aimed at players who want a setup that moves easily between home and on the go.

Cloud Stinger 3 gets a wireless option

On the audio side, the Cloud Stinger 3 line now appears in both wired and wireless versions. HyperX is offering the headset for PS users as well as Xbox and PC users, so the range is broad enough to cover several platforms at once.

The wireless model is the key update here. It adds a cordless option to the series while keeping the same 50 mm driver setup and a frequency response range of 10 Hz to 50 kHz.

HyperX claims the Cloud Stinger 3 wireless can run for up to 80 hours on a charge. A full recharge is said to take around four hours.

The wired version also uses 50 mm drivers. Its product page lists 30 mm in the specifications section, which appears to be a listing error rather than a separate design choice.

Shared build and microphone design

Both Cloud Stinger 3 versions use a stainless steel frame. HyperX also adds leather ear cushions with memory foam to support comfort during longer sessions.

The microphone uses an electret condenser design. Muting it is simple, since the mic can be silenced by flipping it upward.

Software support expands alongside the hardware

HyperX is also updating NGENUITY, and the refreshed interface is described as cleaner and more intuitive. The goal is to make device personalization and customization easier for compatible products.

For audio peripherals, the adjustment features are powered by the HEAR360 engine. That gives the software update a practical role in the company’s broader accessory strategy, rather than treating it as a minor side note.

Clutch Talon is priced at $160 and will be sold through HyperX’s official site and select retailers in the summer, although a specific date has not been announced. Cloud Stinger 3 is already available in black and white, with the wired model at $50 and the wireless model at $100.
