Vivo Sets Its Sights on India With X300 FE And X300 Ultra, 200MP Imaging Leads The Push

Vivo is preparing an aggressive push in India with two very different devices aimed at the upper end of the market. The X300 FE and X300 Ultra are set to arrive in New Delhi on 6 May, and the pairing signals a broader strategy that splits the flagship category into a compact option and a true ultra-premium model.

That approach matters because both phones are being positioned to appeal to distinct buyers at once. One is tuned for users who want top-tier performance in a smaller body, while the other is designed to compete at the highest level of mobile hardware and photography.

A two-track flagship strategy

Vivo’s lineup for India does not follow a one-size-fits-all formula. The X300 FE is aimed at buyers who prefer a more manageable flagship, while the X300 Ultra is built to stand out as the more ambitious and expensive option.

The launch event will be streamed live through Vivo’s official YouTube channel and the company’s social media platforms. Vivo is also expected to reveal launch offers, bank discounts, and availability details, including early access sales and online-exclusive promotions through major e-commerce platforms.

X300 Ultra puts the spotlight on imaging

The most attention is on the X300 Ultra because its camera setup is expected to be a major upgrade. The phone is said to feature a 200MP main rear camera, a 200MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

Its zoom system also appears to be a key part of the pitch. The device is said to support 3.7x optical zoom and up to 105x digital zoom, while Vivo is also reportedly preparing Zeiss 200mm and 400mm telephoto extender lenses to push optical zoom up to 17.4x.

Performance is expected to match the camera ambition. The X300 Ultra is tipped to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, run OriginOS 6 based on the latest Android version, and receive long-term software support.

Premium hardware for a premium tier

The X300 Ultra is also expected to arrive with a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO OLED display and a 144Hz refresh rate. At the back, it is said to carry a large circular camera module that reinforces its flagship design language.

Battery capacity is another headline feature. The phone is expected to include a 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging.

X300 FE targets compact flagship buyers

The X300 FE takes a different route by focusing on a smaller form factor. It is meant for users who want flagship-grade performance without the bulk that usually comes with top-end devices.

Its display is expected to measure 6.31 inches, using an LTPO AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Vivo is also said to introduce a new horizontal camera module design, marking a visible change from the previous generation.

Balanced specs in a smaller frame

Under the hood, the X300 FE is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The device may be offered with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, while also running OriginOS 6 with several years of software and security updates.

The camera setup remains substantial for a compact flagship. Vivo is said to equip it with a 50MP main rear camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x zoom.

On the front, the phone is expected to feature a 50MP selfie camera. It may also support a telephoto extender lens, similar to the Ultra, for additional zoom reach.

Battery life is expected to stay strong despite the smaller size. The X300 FE is tipped to include a 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Pricing sets the tone for the market

Pricing will likely shape how both models are received in India. The X300 FE is expected to be priced between Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000, although another leak suggests a price of Rs 79,999.

The X300 Ultra is said to launch at around Rs 1,59,999. That places it firmly in the ultra-premium segment, where competition is especially intense.

Vivo’s plan shows a clear attempt to strengthen its premium image through two separate routes. One model emphasizes compact flagship balance, while the other pushes camera hardware and overall specifications into far more ambitious territory.
