Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Stands Apart, Three Premium Back Materials Set It Apart From Rivals

Motorola is preparing to give the Edge 70 Pro+ a more distinctive identity than most upper-midrange rivals, and the clearest sign so far is its rear design. Through a dedicated microsite on Flipkart, the company has started teasing a model that appears focused not only on hardware, but also on a more expressive premium finish.

The device is positioned as the top variant in the Edge 70 family, and Motorola seems intent on making that status visible at first glance. Instead of relying on a single standard finish, the Edge 70 Pro+ will reportedly come with three premium back-panel materials that give the phone a stronger visual personality.

Three materials, three different characters

Motorola is showing off Satin-Luxe, Sculpted Wood, and a Twill texture as the available back materials. Each option is paired with a different color treatment, including brown, red, and teal, with distinct finishing details across the lineup.

That approach gives the Edge 70 Pro+ a clearer identity than the regular model. It also suggests Motorola wants the Pro+ to stand out as more than just a spec bump, with design playing a major role in how the phone is positioned.

The teaser also reveals a front display with a punch-hole cutout. Around the edges, the frame appears to use a metallic finish that further reinforces the premium look when the device is held in hand.

Cameras take center stage

On the back, Motorola places three cameras inside a square-shaped module. The company is also highlighting portrait photography as one of the key experiences it wants to emphasize on this model.

Promotional material shows portrait samples with different depth effects, pointing to a camera system tuned for that type of shooting. The camera area also includes Sony LYTIA branding and optical image stabilization, or OIS, while Motorola has confirmed an 81mm focal length.

That detail hints at the possibility of a dedicated portrait or telephoto camera, although the full camera specification has not been officially disclosed yet. The emphasis on portrait use cases makes the imaging setup one of the main talking points surrounding the device.

Features that set it apart from the Edge 70 Pro

Beyond design, the Edge 70 Pro+ is also expected to separate itself from the regular Edge 70 Pro through a few notable upgrades. Recent reports point to periscope telephoto camera support, wireless charging, and 16GB of RAM.

Those additions would place the device in a more aggressive position for its class. Wireless charging and a periscope camera are features that are more commonly associated with higher-priced flagship phones, so their inclusion would make the Pro+ especially interesting in this segment.

Motorola has not revealed the official launch date or final pricing yet. Even so, the phone is expected to cost below Rs 50,000.

Flipkart will be the sales channel in India

Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 Pro+ will be sold in India through Flipkart after launch. The dedicated microsite on the platform also shows that the company continues to rely on online retail as a major channel for its latest devices.

For now, the confirmed details are limited to the design, color and material options, camera direction, and sales availability. Other hardware information remains under wraps until Motorola makes its next announcement.

The Edge 70 Pro+ also arrives alongside attention on the broader Edge 70 lineup, including the Edge 70 Pro, which was previously scheduled to launch on 22 April in India with specs that had already surfaced publicly. With its premium materials, portrait-focused camera direction, and features such as wireless charging and 16GB RAM, the Edge 70 Pro+ is shaping up to be Motorola’s more assertive entry in India’s upper-end smartphone segment.
