Vivo X500 Pro Mini May Pack a Huge Battery Without Giving Up Premium Cameras

Vivo’s next compact flagship is shaping up to be one of the more unusual premium phones of the year. Early leaks suggest the Vivo X500 Pro, or possibly the X500 Pro Mini, is being tuned to combine a near-7,000mAh battery with a camera system that still aims for flagship-grade quality.

That combination is notable because most brands are still focusing on pushing 200MP sensors into their top models. Vivo appears to be taking a different route, giving more weight to battery endurance and a balanced imaging setup instead of chasing the highest resolution headline.

Battery capacity is still being pushed higher

According to Digital Chat Station, the phone’s battery is currently in the 6,500mAh to 6,600mAh range. Vivo is reportedly trying to raise that figure closer to 7,000mAh, although internal space remains a major obstacle.

The challenge is tied to the hardware Vivo wants to keep inside the device. A premium camera layout takes up significant room, making the balance between battery size and imaging components more difficult in a compact body.

A camera setup built around balance, not just resolution

One of the biggest internal space consumers is said to be a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with an 85mm focal length. Vivo is also believed to be using a large LOFIC-based main sensor, which adds further complexity to the internal design.

Earlier leaks pointed to a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Together, those details suggest Vivo is prioritizing a strong all-round imaging system rather than loading every model in the lineup with the same ultra-high-resolution sensor.

In fact, the 200MP sensor is said to be reserved for the X500 Pro Max. Other models in the family, including the X500 Pro, are expected to skip that spec entirely.

Chipset testing points to a different kind of compact flagship

Digital Chat Station also says Vivo is testing a compact flagship powered by an upcoming MediaTek 2nm chipset. The phone is expected to arrive as either the Vivo X500 Pro or Vivo X500 Pro Mini.

The chipset’s final commercial name has not been confirmed, but it is expected to carry the Dimensity 9600 Pro label. The same leaker also said the standard Dimensity 9600 will use a 3nm process and is essentially an upgrade over the Dimensity 9500.

That chip may power the standard Vivo X500, while the Pro model is being positioned as the more premium option with stronger imaging hardware and a larger battery focus.

Display, software, and release window

Previous reports indicate that the Vivo X500 Pro will feature a 6.37-inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone is also expected to ship with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.

Launch plans are already taking shape as well. The Vivo X500 Pro Max, X500 Pro, and X500 are all said to debut in China in September.

For now, the most interesting part of the leak is not a single standout specification, but how Vivo is trying to combine several high-end parts without turning the phone into an oversized device. If the current information is accurate, the X500 Pro could stand out by pairing a battery around 6,500mAh to 6,600mAh, a push toward 7,000mAh, and a serious camera system inside a compact flagship body.
