Honor’s 14,000 mAh Battery Rumor Raises the Bar, But the Phone Is Still in Validation

Honor is reportedly preparing a smartphone that could carry a 14,000 mAh battery, a figure that would push far beyond the company’s current battery record. If the leak proves accurate, the device would mark a major jump in endurance-focused phone development.

The rumor comes from gadget tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. The post did not name Honor directly, but the emoji clue used in the message is widely believed to point to the brand.

Still in the NPI stage

According to Digital Chat Station, the device remains in the New Product Introduction, or NPI, phase. That means the product is still being validated and developed, and it is not ready for the market yet.

With that status, very little else is known about the phone at this point. No official specifications or release timeline have been confirmed.

Honor’s battery push continues

The rumor fits a broader pattern in Honor’s recent product strategy, which has focused heavily on larger batteries. At the end of June, the company launched the X80 Pro Max in China with an 11,000 mAh battery.

That model currently holds Honor’s largest battery capacity in a smartphone. A 14,000 mAh device, if it reaches production, would move well beyond that mark.

Previous rumors also said Honor was developing the Honor Power 3 with a battery somewhere between 11,000 mAh and 12,000 mAh. The latest leak has fueled speculation that the battery capacity for that device may have climbed as high as 14,000 mAh.

For now, all of this remains unconfirmed. Even so, the reported project shows how far Honor may be willing to push smartphone battery capacity if the device eventually moves beyond validation.
