OPPO Find X9’s Rs 10,000 Price Hike Puts It Above iPhone 17 in India

OPPO’s Find X9 has entered a more difficult pricing zone in India after a uniform Rs 10,000 increase pushed both variants higher. The change has placed the phone’s base model above the iPhone 17 256GB, a comparison that changes the usual expectations around Android flagship pricing.

The revised figures are straightforward but hard to ignore. The 12GB + 256GB version, which launched at Rs 74,999, now costs Rs 84,999, while the 16GB + 512GB model has moved from Rs 84,999 to Rs 94,999.

A flagship price that now sits above iPhone 17

For many buyers, the bigger surprise is not just the size of the increase but where it leaves the Find X9 in the market. The entry variant is now priced above the iPhone 17 256GB, which starts at Rs 82,900.

That shift gives the Find X9 a less familiar position in the premium segment. Instead of acting as the more flexible Android alternative on price, it now sits in territory usually associated with the most expensive mainstream flagships.

The impact goes beyond one model

This is not an isolated move in the premium phone segment. Brands including iQOO, OnePlus, and Motorola have also been mentioned as part of a broader wave of flagship price adjustments.

That wider pattern matters because it changes how consumers compare devices. When Android flagships begin to approach or exceed the pricing of an iPhone standard model, the value calculation becomes much tighter.

Why prices are under pressure

The rise in pricing is being linked to global cost pressure. Higher component costs, memory expenses, logistics spending, and supply chain disruptions are all adding strain to manufacturers.

Geopolitical tension and shipping delays are also contributing to the difficult environment. Under those conditions, keeping flagship pricing stable becomes harder for brands that still need to protect margins and distribution costs.

Strong hardware, but a tougher buying decision

Even with the new prices, the Find X9 still brings a strong flagship package. It includes a Hasselblad-tuned camera system and a large 7,000mAh battery, two features that remain attractive to buyers focused on imaging and endurance.

But once the top variant reaches Rs 94,999, the purchase decision becomes less simple. At that level, buyers are likely to weigh the camera system, battery life, brand image, ecosystem, resale value, and other options in the same segment much more carefully.

OPPO’s lineup feels the pressure too

The timing adds another layer to the story, because OPPO has also introduced the Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s in India. That usually would make an older model easier to position with a lower price.

Instead, the opposite has happened, and the gap between the Find X9 and Find X9s has become narrower. That could push some buyers toward the newer model rather than the revised Find X9, especially when the price difference is no longer as wide as expected.

The result is a sharper premium-phone market in India, where the Find X9 no longer competes as a comfortably priced flagship. It now has to justify a starting price that places it above the iPhone 17 256GB.
