Xiaomi is preparing to put the spotlight on its next major smartphone line as the Xiaomi 17T Series goes live globally tonight through a YouTube livestream. The launch is drawing attention because it combines fast MediaTek chips, Leica-branded cameras, and large batteries in a package that is also being lined up for Southeast Asia.

Global launch with a clear regional signal
The announcement is scheduled for 19.00 WIB on Xiaomi Global’s YouTube channel. Xiaomi is using the tagline “Xiaomi 17T Series, The Moment Beyond Sight,” pointing to a strong focus on visual experience and photography.
The regional signals are hard to miss. Certification in Indonesia and Thailand usually comes before official sales begin, and Xiaomi Indonesia has reinforced the message with an Instagram post that says, “No need to guess anymore. This is happening sooner than expected #Xiaomi17Tseries,” along with a “Coming Soon” poster.
Two models, two performance targets
Xiaomi is expected to introduce two models in the lineup: the Xiaomi 17T and the Xiaomi 17T Pro. The standard model is positioned as a premium midrange device, while the Pro version takes the higher-end spotlight.
On the performance side, the Xiaomi 17T is said to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra. The Xiaomi 17T Pro, meanwhile, is set to carry the Dimensity 9500 built on a 3nm process.

Battery capacity stands out immediately
Battery life is one of the most striking parts of the series. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is said to come with a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the standard Xiaomi 17T carries a 6,500 mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge support.
Those numbers place the series in an aggressive position for endurance. The 7,000 mAh figure on the Pro model is one of the most notable details from the entire launch package, especially for users who stay active throughout the day.
The combination of large capacity and fast charging also helps define Xiaomi’s intent here. The company appears to be pushing the 17T Series as a device line built around both performance and efficiency.
Leica tuning and a high-refresh display
Camera hardware is another key part of the appeal. Xiaomi continues its collaboration with Leica, and leaked design images circulating on Weibo suggest that both the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro use a square rear camera module with special Leica tuning.
The camera setup is described as a triple-sensor configuration. One of the most discussed details is a telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom, 10x optical-quality zoom, and digital zoom reaching 120x.
The standard Xiaomi 17T is also said to use a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera. That sensor is meant to deliver very sharp image detail, making photography one of the key differences in the series.
On the display side, the Xiaomi 17T Pro includes a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. That specification is aimed at users who want smoother gaming and more fluid visual content.
Taken together, the screen, chip, camera, and battery details suggest a device that is being built to feel complete rather than simply powerful.
