Leica Periscope Photography Comes to Xiaomi 17T, Starting at Rp 8,999 Million

A 50 MP periscope camera is the headline feature that gives Xiaomi 17T a more premium feel than its starting price suggests. In Indonesia, the phone is priced from Rp 8.999.000, placing it below Xiaomi 17 while still carrying specifications that are usually associated with higher-tier models.

That positioning makes Xiaomi 17T notable in a crowded segment. It is sold through official marketplace partners starting 6 June 2026, and Xiaomi is offering two memory variants with a Rp 1 million gap between them.

Pricing, variants, and colors

Xiaomi 17T comes in 12/256 GB and 12/512 GB versions. The lower model is priced at Rp 8.999.000, while the higher-capacity option is sold for Rp 9.999.000.

The phone is available in Black, Deep Blue, and Deep Violet. With that pricing structure, Xiaomi places the device just under the Rp 10 million mark while still adding a set of features that aim at premium buyers.

Camera system built around zoom

The rear camera setup is the strongest selling point. Xiaomi 17T carries a 50 MP main camera with a 1/1.55-inch sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide camera, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera.

The periscope lens supports 5x optical zoom, equivalent to a 115 mm focal length. Xiaomi says this is an upgrade from the 2x zoom on the previous generation, and the system also extends zoom through in-sensor zoom up to 10x.

For longer distances, Xiaomi adds AI Ultra Zoom up to 120x. There is also a telemacro feature for close-up shooting from as near as 30 cm, while the camera system uses Leica UltraPure optical design that Xiaomi says was previously available only on Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

On the front, the phone uses a 32 MP selfie camera. That combination makes the device suitable for portraits, zoom shots, and everyday video calls without needing a more expensive model.

Display and performance

The front of Xiaomi 17T is filled by a 6.59-inch OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has 1,268-pixel resolution and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, which helps visibility under direct sunlight.

Xiaomi also uses Gorilla Glass 7i on the display and includes Xiaomi Vision Care for eye comfort. These additions support the phone’s positioning as a daily driver with a more polished screen experience.

Inside, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. It is paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage up to 512 GB, giving it a specification set that targets high performance and smoother multitasking.

Battery and charging

Battery life is another key part of the package. Xiaomi 17T uses a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery, and the company claims it can last through more than a full day of normal use.

Charging support includes 67W fast charging, along with 22.5W reverse charging for powering other devices when needed. That mix gives the phone an advantage for users who want both endurance and practical charging flexibility.
