Huawei Nova 16 Series Spans Four Distinct Models, From 2,699 Yuan to 5,799 Yuan

Huawei has expanded the nova lineup with a wider spread of choices than usual. Instead of relying on a single hero model, the company launched four versions at once: nova 16z, nova 16, nova 16 Pro, and nova 16 Ultra.

That approach gives the series a sharper hierarchy from the start. Each model is differentiated through design, camera hardware, battery capacity, and extra features, so the lineup targets different user needs more clearly.

Distinct positions across the range

The nova 16z is the easiest to identify thanks to its vertical oval camera module. It also sits as the most affordable option in the nova 16 family.

The nova 16 and nova 16 Pro use a horizontal capsule-shaped module, while the nova 16 Ultra is positioned as the most complete variant. Huawei’s design choices make the gap between each tier easier to see at a glance.

Shared core, different display sizes

All four models come with a 120Hz OLED panel and 12GB of RAM. Even so, Huawei does not treat them as near-identical devices, because the screen sizes, resolutions, and chipsets vary by model.

The nova 16z features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 1084 x 2412 pixel resolution. It runs on the Kirin 8020 and uses a 6000 mAh battery.

The nova 16 steps up to a 6.68-inch OLED panel with a 1280 x 2800 pixel resolution. It is powered by the Kirin 9010S and carries a 7000 mAh battery, giving it a stronger position than the nova 16z in both performance and endurance.

At the top of the regular lineup, the nova 16 Pro and nova 16 Ultra both use a 6.84-inch OLED display with a 1320 x 2856 pixel resolution. Both models are paired with the Kirin 9010S and 12GB of RAM, placing them in the premium tier of the series.

Camera hardware becomes the clearest divider

The camera setup is where the differences become most obvious. The nova 16z includes a 50MP main camera and a 12MP telephoto lens, while the nova 16 upgrades the telephoto camera to 50MP.

The nova 16 Pro goes much further with a triple rear-camera system. It combines a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera.

The nova 16 Ultra uses a similar setup to the Pro, but its telephoto camera has an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, both the nova 16 Pro and nova 16 Ultra feature a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.

Charging, durability, and storage options

The nova 16z and nova 16 both support 100W charging through USB Type-C. They also share stereo speakers, a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, IP65 certification, and satellite communication support.

The nova 16 Pro and nova 16 Ultra also support 100W charging via USB Type-C, but the Ultra adds 50W wireless charging. It also raises the durability rating with IP68 and IP69 certification.

Storage choices are split by tier as well. The nova 16z and nova 16 are offered in 256GB and 512GB versions. The nova 16 Pro and nova 16 Ultra add a 1TB option for users who need more room.

Pricing across the series

Huawei set the entry price for the nova 16z at 2.699 yuan for the 12/256GB version. The same memory configuration costs 2.999 yuan on the nova 16, 3.899 yuan on the nova 16 Pro, and 4.6899 yuan on the nova 16 Ultra.

For the 12/512GB versions, the nova 16z is priced at 3.199 yuan, while the nova 16 costs 3.499 yuan. The nova 16 Pro is listed at 4.399 yuan, and the nova 16 Ultra at 5.199 yuan.

In the 12GB/1TB tier, the nova 16 Pro starts at 4.999 yuan and the nova 16 Ultra at 5.799 yuan. The pricing structure shows that the series is built to cover a broad range, from users who want core essentials with a large battery to those prioritizing camera performance, larger storage, and more premium features.
