Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Raises The Bar With 6,500 mAh Power, 144Hz AMOLED, And Triple 50 MP Cameras

Motorola is pushing its Edge 70 Pro+ into the premium conversation with a spec sheet built to stand out immediately. The phone combines a 6,500 mAh battery, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and a trio of 50 MP rear cameras in a package that still sits below the ultra-premium tier.

That positioning is part of the appeal. With a starting price of 47,999 rupees, Motorola is aiming the device at buyers who want flagship-style hardware without moving into the highest price brackets.

A display built to impress and endure

The screen is one of the most attention-grabbing parts of the device. Motorola equips the Edge 70 Pro+ with a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1272 x 2772 resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness reaching up to 5,200 nits.

In another description, the same display is identified as a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support. Motorola also uses a quad-curved design and Pantone color validation to support color accuracy, while Corning Gorilla Glass 7i handles protection.

Durability is not treated as an afterthought. The phone carries IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H certifications, giving it a strong resistance profile for a premium mid-range model.

Cameras are clearly a major focus

Motorola gives the Edge 70 Pro+ a rear setup that is easy to notice on paper. The back includes three 50 MP cameras made up of a main camera, an ultrawide camera, and a periscope telephoto lens.

The main sensor uses Sony LYTIA 710, while the periscope lens supports 3.5x optical zoom and up to 50x AI-powered zoom. On the front, Motorola adds a 50 MP camera with autofocus, which makes the phone more appealing for selfies and video calls in a segment where that feature is still not always standard.

Portrait photography is also part of the pitch. Motorola highlights wider focal length options and AI-based processing as part of the imaging experience.

Performance, memory, and battery round out the package

Under the hood, the Edge 70 Pro+ runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme. It is paired with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256 GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The phone ships with Android 16 and is positioned to handle gaming, multitasking, and AI-driven features with less friction. Motorola keeps the configuration simple by offering only one memory variant, which is 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.

Battery life is another central selling point. The device uses a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 90W fast charging.

Wireless charging is included as well, with 15W wireless charging supported. Motorola also adds 10W reverse wireless charging and reverse wired charging, although the exact reverse wired charging output is noted differently in the available specifications.

Connectivity, security, and market availability

Motorola rounds out the Edge 70 Pro+ with stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. ThinkShield is also part of the package, adding another layer to the phone’s security focus.

In India, the phone will be sold through Flipkart and Motorola’s official store. Sales begin on 11 June at 12 PM, and buyers can also access instant bank discounts of up to 3,000 rupees along with additional exchange bonuses.

The color options are Chicory Coffee, Stormy Sea, and Zinfandel. That palette reinforces Motorola’s premium styling approach, while the overall hardware mix keeps the Edge 70 Pro+ firmly aimed at users who want a highly equipped phone without stepping into the very top of the market.
