One UI 8.5 Spreads Faster, Galaxy A15 5G And XCover 7 Join The Early Rollout

Author: Qoo Media

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 rollout is moving fast enough that two more Galaxy devices have already entered the queue in select markets. The latest recipients are the Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy XCover 7, both of which are now getting the Android 16 QPR2-based update in certain regions.

That pace matters for Galaxy owners who have been waiting for the notification to appear. With Samsung expanding distribution more aggressively, other eligible models are expected to follow without a long delay.

Galaxy A15 5G starts in Korea

The Galaxy A15 5G is among the first devices to receive One UI 8.5, but the rollout is still limited. At this stage, the update has been spotted on the Korean variant sold as the Galaxy Buddy 3, carrying build number A156LKSUADZE9.

There is no word yet on One UI 8.5 availability for the 4G version of the Galaxy A15. For now, the rollout appears to be focused only on the 5G model in the Korean market.

Galaxy XCover 7 reaches Southeast Asia

The Galaxy XCover 7 is following a different path and has already started receiving the update in parts of Southeast Asia. The countries mentioned so far include Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Samsung is distributing the software with build number G556BXXUFEZEB. As usual, the rollout is being done in stages, so not every user will see the update at the same time.

Android 16 QPR2 under the hood

One UI 8.5 is built on Android 16 QPR2, which means the update brings more than a refreshed interface. It also gives supported Galaxy devices a newer system foundation than the version they had before.

This rollout also reflects Samsung’s current pace. Most eligible devices are said to have received One UI 8.5 over the past few weeks, suggesting the company is pushing the update across its lineup more quickly than usual.

How to check manually

Users of the Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy XCover 7 can look for the update manually through the Settings menu. From there, the path is Software update, then Download and install.

If the package is already available, the device will let the user proceed with Install now after the download finishes. That option is useful when the automatic notification has not appeared yet.

What this means for other Galaxy models

The arrival of the Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy XCover 7 shows that Samsung’s One UI 8.5 rollout is still gaining speed. If the current pattern continues, other eligible Galaxy devices could receive the update within days or weeks.

Even so, timing will still depend on region, model, and distribution wave. A device being updated in Korea or Southeast Asia does not automatically mean the same build is ready everywhere else, since Samsung often releases software in phases across markets and variants.
