Infinix Smart 20 Breaks the Budget Mold with 120Hz Screen and IP64 Protection

Infinix Smart 20 arrives in India with a feature set that is unusual for a low-cost phone. The device combines a 120Hz display, MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

That combination gives the Smart 20 a clearer identity than many entry-level models. Instead of focusing on one standout spec, Infinix has packed in several practical upgrades aimed at everyday use.

Display and design

The phone carries a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a centered punch-hole cutout. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and general navigation feel smoother than on typical budget displays.

For outdoor visibility, the screen can reach up to 700 nits in high-brightness mode. Infinix also includes Dynamic Bar, an interface feature used to show notifications and status updates.

Performance and storage

Under the hood, the Smart 20 uses the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage options go up to 128GB with eMMC 5.1, while virtual RAM expansion is available to help with multitasking.

Users who need more space can also expand storage through a microSD card of up to 2TB. That makes the phone more flexible for media files, apps, and offline content.

Battery, software, and daily use

The Smart 20 runs XOS 16 based on Android 16 and is powered by a 5,200mAh battery. Charging support is rated at 15W, and the phone also offers 5W reverse wired charging for compatible devices.

Infinix has added a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor for additional daily functions. Stereo speakers and DTS audio round out the media experience, while the IP64 rating adds another layer of reassurance against dust and water splashes.

One of the more unusual additions is UltraLink offline communication technology. Infinix says compatible devices can connect with each other at distances of up to 1 km without relying on a cellular network.

Cameras and market positioning

The camera setup is modest, which fits the phone’s positioning. On the back, the Smart 20 uses an 8-megapixel camera supported by an additional sensor and dual-LED flash.

At the front, there is also an 8-megapixel selfie camera for video calls and self-portraits. The hardware suggests that Infinix is targeting practical everyday use rather than trying to compete on photography.

That approach becomes more obvious when looking at the rest of the package. A large battery, expandable storage, and a 120Hz screen give the Smart 20 stronger appeal for users who value long use and smooth content consumption.

Price, colors, and availability

In India, the Smart 20 is offered in two variants. The 4GB + 64GB model is priced at Rs 12,499, while the 4GB + 128GB version costs Rs 13,999.

Color choices include Sunlike Orange, Cloudline Blue, Shadow Black, and Polaris Titanium. These options give buyers a mix of brighter and more restrained finishes.

A launch offer brings an instant discount of Rs 500 for purchases made with select bank cards. With that promotion, the effective starting price drops to Rs 11,999.

First sales begin on 12 June through Flipkart and the Infinix India online store. For a budget phone, the Smart 20 stands out by combining smoother display hardware, practical durability, and features that are rarely this complete in its class.
