The global and Indian version of the Oppo Reno 16 is starting to look less like a direct match for the China model. Its appearance on Geekbench points to a different chipset choice, and that could shape performance, battery behavior, and camera configuration in ways buyers will notice.
According to tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, the device appeared in Geekbench 6.6.0 under model number OPPO CPH2865. That identifier is believed to belong to the global or India unit, while the China-only Reno 16 uses the OPPO PMM110 SKU.
Benchmark Results Suggest a Different Direction
The Geekbench listing shows a single-core score of 1,240 and a multi-core score of 3,994. The test unit also carried 12 GB of RAM and ran Android 16, which is expected to be based on ColorOS 16.
The processor layout listed in the benchmark shows an octa-core setup with three cores at 1.84 GHz, four cores at 2.40 GHz, and one core at 2.80 GHz. That 3+4+1 pattern strongly points to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
That detail matters because earlier leaks had already suggested a split between regional variants. For markets such as India, the Reno 16 is said to use Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 instead of the Dimensity 8550 Super found in the China version.
Spec Gaps May Go Beyond the Chipset
The chipset change is only part of the story. The Reno 16 global and India variant is still tipped to keep a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution.
Other hardware differences appear more noticeable. The battery is expected to be 6,000mAh for the India and global model, compared with 6,700mAh on the China version.
Charging appears unchanged, with both versions said to support 80W wired charging. Oppo may therefore keep the same charging speed while adjusting the battery size for different markets.
The Camera Setup Looks More Conservative
The biggest difference may come in imaging. The 200 MP main camera on the China model is reportedly being replaced by a 50 MP sensor on the India and global variant.
The other two cameras are said to remain the same, with a 50 MP ultra-wide lens and a 50 MP periscope camera. If accurate, that would make the global Reno 16 feel closer to a trimmed-down version than a one-to-one copy of the China device.
Additional leaks also point to an aluminum frame, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and an IP69 rating. Those details suggest Oppo is still keeping the phone’s premium identity intact despite the regional specification changes.
Launch Timing Still Has Not Been Confirmed
Oppo has not announced the Reno 16 for India or other global markets yet. For now, the device remains in the leak and benchmark stage, with official details still pending.
The lineup is reportedly expected to arrive in India in a July 2026 window. Alongside the standard Reno 16, four devices are said to be in preparation, including the Oppo Reno 16C, Reno 16 Pro, and Reno 16 Pro Mini.
The appearance of OPPO CPH2865 on Geekbench usually signals that a launch is moving closer. Even so, final specifications, memory options, and regional positioning still need confirmation from Oppo itself.
For now, the benchmark entry is the clearest indication that the India and global Reno 16 may diverge sharply from the China model. The use of Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the headline change, and it also raises the question of how much Oppo is willing to trade off in exchange for a region-specific configuration.
