Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Leaks Hint at Dual 200 MP Cameras and a New Snapdragon Edge

Xiaomi’s next flagship may be aiming straight at the top of the Android market. Early leaks suggest the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could combine a 6.9-inch flat LIPO OLED display, a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip, and dual 200 MP cameras.

The details first surfaced through an X post from @Saurav_DJ47, and the timing has drawn attention after the Xiaomi 17T reportedly posted strong sales. If the leak proves accurate, Xiaomi appears ready to push performance and imaging together in one oversized premium device.

Large screen, thin bezels

The front of the phone is said to feature a 6.9-inch flat LIPO OLED panel. The design is described as having highly symmetrical, very thin bezels, a look that has become increasingly important in the flagship segment.

LIPO, short for low-injection pressure overmolding, is also said to help the display adapt to refresh rates. In practical terms, the panel is expected to deliver strong contrast and vivid color reproduction for media use and productivity.

A display of this size also signals how Xiaomi may position the device. It should suit split-screen multitasking, spreadsheet work, and web browsing without feeling constrained by a smaller screen footprint.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 enters the picture

The biggest hardware claim in the leak is the chipset. According to @Saurav_DJ47, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 octa-core SoC built on TSMC’s 2nm process.

The reported boost clock reaches 5.0 GHz, a figure that immediately places the chip in the upper tier of mobile performance discussions. On paper, that would give Xiaomi a notable advantage in raw speed if the leak is correct.

For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with a boost up to 4.7 GHz. That leaves Xiaomi’s rumored phone with a higher specification ceiling, although real-world results will still depend on software tuning and thermal design.

The chip rumor also suggests Xiaomi is not focusing only on imaging. The company appears to be building a package intended for gaming, heavy processing, and efficiency under demanding workloads.

200 MP on both ends of the camera system

Camera hardware is the other major headline. The leak says the main camera will use a next-generation 200 MP LOFIC sensor, continuing Xiaomi’s interest in very high-resolution imaging for its premium line.

More surprising is the claim that the periscope telephoto camera will also carry a 200 MP resolution. If true, Xiaomi would be targeting both detailed primary shots and long-range zoom performance at the same time.

Still, resolution alone does not define camera quality. The final result will also depend on sensor size, optics, and image processing, especially on the telephoto side where hardware balance matters just as much as pixel count.

That is why one of the most important missing details is the size of the periscope sensor. Until that becomes clearer, the real zoom capability of the device remains difficult to judge.

Premium positioning may bring a higher price

All of these rumored components point to a very expensive flagship class. A 6.9-inch LIPO OLED screen, a next-generation Snapdragon chip, and dual 200 MP cameras would place the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max near the top end of the market.

There is also an expectation that chipset costs may continue rising because of demand from the AI industry. That trend could push the final price higher and make the device even more firmly positioned in the premium segment.

For buyers, the key question will be whether Xiaomi can turn those headline numbers into a smooth and balanced user experience. For now, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max remains a leak, but it already looks like one of the more ambitious flagships being watched closely.
