Sharp Aquos R11 Pushes Hard on Power, Camera Range, and 3,600-Nit Display

Sharp has quietly introduced the Aquos R11 in Japan, positioning the phone as a premium model built around speed, camera flexibility, and a display that is designed to stand out in bright conditions.

The device combines Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, giving it a specification sheet aimed squarely at users who expect flagship-level responsiveness.

Display and performance take center stage

One of the most notable features of the Aquos R11 is its 6.5-inch Pro IGZO OLED panel. Sharp pairs the full HD+ 1,080 x 2,340 pixel display with an adaptive refresh rate that ranges from 1Hz to 240Hz, which should help balance smooth motion with efficiency.

The panel also reaches a peak brightness of 3,600 nits, a figure that places heavy emphasis on outdoor visibility and high-contrast viewing. In practical terms, the screen is one of the phone’s clearest premium talking points.

Three rear cameras and a 50.3MP selfie sensor

Sharp has also given the Aquos R11 a more complete camera setup than many rivals in its class. The rear system includes a 50.3MP main camera with an f/1.9 aperture and OIS, a 50.3MP ultrawide camera, and a 38.5MP telephoto camera with OIS.

That trio is joined by a 14-channel spectral sensor, which Sharp says is part of the imaging system’s color and lighting support. On the front, the phone uses a 50.3MP camera for selfies and video calls, keeping resolution high on both sides of the device.

Battery, software support, and durability

The Aquos R11 includes a 5,100mAh battery and supports 36W charging. It also ships with Android 16 and comes with a long software commitment of three OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

Connectivity is another area where Sharp leans into the premium segment. The phone supports Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and Bluetooth 6.0, while physical protection is backed by IPX5, IPX8, IPX9, and IP6X ratings.

Sharp also says the phone meets MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-810H standards. For security, users get an in-display fingerprint scanner and face recognition.

Price and available versions

In Japan, the Sharp Aquos R11 is priced at JPY 1,63,899 and is offered in a single configuration with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Buyers can choose from Ivory, Navy, and terracotta color options. The phone measures around 156 x 74 x 8.9 mm and weighs about 195 grams, giving it a form factor that stays within the expected range for a large-screen premium handset.

With its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, 240Hz-class display, triple rear cameras, and long update promise, the Aquos R11 is shaped as one of Sharp’s most assertive entries in the R series. The combination of high brightness, broad connectivity support, and extensive durability ratings makes it a clear attempt to compete on both features and long-term ownership appeal.
