Galaxy A27 Moves Closer to Indonesia, Samsung’s Midrange Upgrade Looks More Serious

Samsung’s Galaxy A27 is edging closer to an official launch in Indonesia after appearing in the Ministry of Industry’s TKDN certification database. The device was listed under the code SM-A276B, a model believed to correspond to the Galaxy A27.

The filing is an important signal because TKDN approval is one of the requirements a phone must satisfy before it can be sold legally in the country. In this case, the listed local content value reaches 40.30%, comfortably above the minimum threshold.

More than a routine refresh

The Galaxy A27 is shaping up as more than a simple successor to the Galaxy A26. One of the biggest changes is the move to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, replacing the Exynos chip used in earlier Galaxy A2x models.

That shift matters because the Snapdragon platform is expected to offer better efficiency and stronger performance than its predecessor. Samsung is also keeping the core strengths that have helped its midrange line remain competitive.

What Samsung has already revealed

The phone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. A centered punch-hole design also gives the front panel a more modern look than the previous notch layout.

Memory options include 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM, paired with 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. On the rear, Samsung is using a 50 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization, alongside a 5 MP ultrawide camera and a 2 MP macro camera.

For selfies, the Galaxy A27 carries a 12 MP front camera. The battery is rated at 5,000 mAh and supports 25W fast charging, while the phone is also said to carry an IP64 durability rating.

Software support may be one of its biggest advantages

Samsung is reportedly equipping the Galaxy A27 with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. The device also supports features such as Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and voice recording transcription.

Perhaps the most eye-catching promise is the software policy. Samsung is said to offer six years of Android upgrades and six years of security updates, a level of support that stands out in the midrange segment.

Colors and early pricing details

Color options that have surfaced so far include Black, Blue, Light Green, and Pink. The range suggests Samsung is still aiming for broad appeal in the midrange market.

Official pricing for Indonesia has not been announced yet, but a European leak points to 349 euros for the 6 GB/128 GB version and 439 euros for the 8 GB/256 GB model. Final local prices could be different once Samsung introduces the phone officially.

For now, the TKDN listing is the clearest sign that the Galaxy A27 is approaching its Indonesian debut. If the next certification is completed, the path toward launch will become even more open.
