Redmi Note 15 Series Pushes 108MP Cameras and Tougher Builds Into the Midrange

Xiaomi has expanded its midrange push in Indonesia with the REDMI Note 15 Series, led by the REDMI Note 15 and REDMI Note 15 5G. The two models arrive with a clear formula: a 108MP camera, stronger durability, and prices that start from Rp2 million.

The timing fits a generation that lives online and creates content every day. APJII 2025 data shows internet penetration among Gen Z reached 87.8%, while Jakpat says around 83% of young people are active in content creation across daily activities.

Built for everyday use, not just specification sheets

Xiaomi Indonesia introduced the REDMI Note 15 Series on 17 June 2026 and positioned it for communication, content creation, entertainment, and daily productivity. Xiaomi Indonesia Marketing Director Andi Renreng said the series was designed to meet the needs of young users who are active and creative.

The lineup also leans into lifestyle appeal through its color options. Buyers can choose Black, Glacier Blue, or Mist Purple, giving the devices a more modern look in a crowded segment.

108MP cameras lead the pitch

Photography is one of the main selling points across the series. Xiaomi equips all models with a 108MP main camera, a resolution intended to preserve detail across different lighting conditions.

For video, the devices support recording at up to 4K. The REDMI Note 15 5G adds an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while the REDMI Note 15 uses a depth camera for portrait-style background blur.

Large AMOLED display and smoother motion

Both phones feature a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That combination is aimed at smoother scrolling, better gaming motion, and a more fluid video experience.

AMOLED technology also brings richer color and stronger contrast. In a market where the screen has become the center of daily smartphone use, Xiaomi is clearly treating visual comfort as a key advantage.

Different chips, familiar memory ceiling

Under the hood, the REDMI Note 15 5G runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the REDMI Note 15 uses the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra. Xiaomi frames the latter as a platform focused on stable daily performance and multitasking.

Both models come with up to 8GB of RAM and can be expanded virtually to 16GB in total. Internal storage reaches up to 512GB, leaving enough room for large apps, photos, videos, and games.

Durability is where the 5G model pulls ahead

Xiaomi highlights toughness through REDMI TITAN Durability. The REDMI Note 15 carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and splashes.

The REDMI Note 15 5G goes further with an IP66 rating, SGS drop resistance standards, and the ability to withstand impacts from drops of up to 1.7 meters. The full series also supports Wet Touch 2.0, so the screen remains responsive when hands are wet, sweaty, or touched by raindrops.

Battery sizes match the two price points

Power hardware differs between the two devices as well. The REDMI Note 15 5G packs a 5,520mAh battery with 45W Turbo Charging, while the REDMI Note 15 carries a larger 6,000mAh battery with 33W Turbo Charging.

The REDMI Note 15 5G is also described as slim at 7.35 mm and light at 178 grams. That balance is meant to keep the phone comfortable for long sessions of social media, video editing, and gaming.

Official prices in Indonesia

According to Xiaomi, the REDMI Note 15 Series is available through the company’s official channels and partner retail networks in Indonesia. The REDMI Note 15 starts at Rp2.899.000, while the REDMI Note 15 5G starts at Rp3.499.000.

At those prices, Xiaomi is entering a very crowded midrange market with a package built around a high-resolution camera, solid daily performance, device durability, and a design that speaks directly to younger buyers.
