Logitech is taking a sharper swing at the entry-level gaming mouse segment with the G305 X Superlight. The new model combines a 59-gram body, a 44,000 DPI sensor, and a starting price of US$79.99.
That combination makes the mouse stand out immediately. Logitech is positioning it as a serious update to the long-running G305 line, with a focus on lighter handling and more advanced performance features.
Lightweight body with a rechargeable battery
The most visible change is the move away from a single disposable AA battery. The G305 X Superlight now uses an internal rechargeable battery, which helps reduce overall weight and brings the mouse down to 59 grams.
Logitech also exposes the outer screws on the chassis, making it easier for users to open, maintain, or repair the device themselves. The company says the main body also uses post-consumer recycled plastic.
The recycled material content varies by color. The black version uses up to 65 percent recycled plastic, while the white version uses 51 percent.
HERO sensor pushes the specifications higher
At the center of the upgrade is Logitech’s latest HERO sensor generation. The company says it can reach up to 44,000 DPI, with more than 40G acceleration and tracking speed of 678 inches per second.
For everyday use, the mouse runs at a 1,000Hz polling rate through the included USB-A dongle. Users who want lower latency can upgrade with the separately sold PRO Wireless Receiver.
With that accessory, polling can rise to 8,000Hz. That option is clearly aimed at competitive players who want the fastest possible response.
Three connection modes and broad control options
The G305 X Superlight supports Lightspeed 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, and wired USB Type-C connection. Logitech says the battery can last for around 130 hours of continuous use.
It also supports fast charging, with two minutes of charging said to provide about three and a half hours of use. On the control side, the mouse offers six programmable buttons and onboard memory for up to five user profiles.
Settings such as DPI, button mapping, and Lightsync RGB can be adjusted through the Logitech G Hub desktop app. That gives users room to tailor the mouse for both gaming performance and visual preference.
Price remains the key selling point
Despite the stronger specifications, Logitech has kept the price at US$79.99, or around Rp1.3 million. That makes the G305 X Superlight one of the more aggressive offerings in the entry-level gaming mouse category.
Logitech plans a global release on 30 June 2026. Alongside the mouse, the company also revealed a prototype of its first portable folding mouse, which can be folded into two parts for easier carrying.
