Lenovo has positioned the Tab Plus Gen 2 as a tablet built for entertainment rather than basic media viewing. The model combines nine JBL speakers, a 12.1-inch 120Hz display, and MediaTek Dimensity 7400 performance in a package aimed at long-term use.
The hardware mix makes the device stand out in a crowded tablet segment. Lenovo is also backing it with a large battery, a premium build, and software support that should matter to users planning to keep the tablet for years.
Audio Takes The Lead
The most distinctive upgrade sits in the sound system, where Lenovo now includes nine JBL Pro speakers instead of the eight found on the previous generation. The setup is paired with a dedicated bass unit and Dolby Atmos for a more immersive listening experience.
That approach gives the tablet a clear entertainment identity. It is designed for movie playback, music listening, and gaming, while Bluetooth Speaker Mode also lets a smartphone connect to the tablet and turn it into a portable speaker for gatherings.
A Larger, Smoother Display
Lenovo has also expanded the visual experience with a 12.1-inch LCD panel, up from the 11.5-inch screen on its predecessor. The display carries a 2.5K resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and up to 800 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode adds to its appeal. For streaming and gaming, the combination should deliver a sharper and more responsive viewing experience.
The tablet also includes an integrated kickstand that rotates 360 degrees. That makes it easier to adjust the viewing angle for video playback, reading, or video calls.
Dimensity 7400 Brings The Performance Boost
Under the hood, Lenovo has moved from the Helio G99 to the MediaTek Dimensity 7400. The change is intended to improve everyday multitasking and general entertainment use.
Lenovo has not detailed every memory and storage variant, but it does confirm microSD expansion of up to 2TB. That gives users extra flexibility for large files, videos, and game libraries.
Android 16 And Long-Term Support
The Tab Plus Gen 2 ships with Android 16 out of the box. Lenovo says the tablet will receive two more Android version upgrades, taking it up to Android 18.
Security updates are promised through 2030. For buyers looking at a tablet as a long-term device, that level of support is a meaningful part of the offer.
Battery, Design, And Launch Price
Power comes from a 10,200mAh battery, which Lenovo says can handle up to 15 hours of YouTube streaming on a single charge. The tablet supports 45W fast charging, although the adapter is not included in the box.
The design arrives in Celestial White and weighs around 775 grams, with a maximum thickness of 22.7 mm at the speaker area. Lenovo says the product has also earned an iF Design Award.
The Tab Plus Gen 2 starts at US$400, or about Rp6.5 million, and will roll out gradually in the UK, Singapore, and Australia before reaching other markets.
