Samsung is making a clear bet on display size and everyday practicality with the Galaxy A27 5G. Priced at $349, the phone arrives as a more expensive follow-up to the Galaxy A26 5G, but the added cost is tied to visible changes that are easy to notice at first glance.
The biggest shift is on the front. Samsung has moved to a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a punch-hole camera, and thinner bezels, giving the phone a more open and modern look.
The company says the Infinity-O panel is designed to create more screen space and keep content in focus. Despite the larger display, the handset remains relatively manageable at 7.8 mm thick and about 7 ounces in weight.
Performance moves to Snapdragon
Under the hood, Samsung replaces the Exynos chip used in the Galaxy A26 with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The new platform is paired with a 5,000 mAh battery, although Samsung has not shared an official battery-life estimate.
Memory and storage options are also aimed at buyers who want flexibility without pushing too far beyond the budget segment. The Galaxy A27 5G comes with 6GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a microSD slot for expansion.
Camera and AI features round out the package
The camera setup stays practical rather than flashy. Samsung includes a 12MP front camera, a 50MP main rear camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
Samsung is also leaning heavily on AI tools to make the phone feel more capable in daily use. Users can choose Google Gemini or Perplexity AI as assistants, while Bixby remains available for device controls.
On the software side, the Galaxy A27 5G supports Android’s Circle to Search, object eraser for photos, and translation tools for voice-note transcription. That combination gives the device a stronger feature set than many buyers usually expect at this price.
Samsung says the Galaxy A27 5G will launch on July 3 in selected markets around the world. In the United States, it is scheduled to arrive on July 14 at the same $349 price point.
The move also puts the new model $50 above the Galaxy A26 5G, showing that Samsung is asking buyers to pay more for the larger screen, updated chipset, and added AI features.
